Thanks for the links for Sawyer Products. These filters are amazing and are the best on the market. We plan on buying one for our family in case of emergency disasters.
I saw a demonstration at Creation Festival. The filter can filter out amazingly small particles (smaller than microns) and the people can clean the filter with a syringe. They took pond water and ran it through the filter and it was clear. I even drank some. Really exciting way to change people's lives.
For all of those questioning the systems, how they work, etc... I have finally found what I was looking for. They filters are produced by Sawyer Products and are good for 1 million gallons. They require minimal cleaning. For Rwanda, Saddleback church initiated a clean water initiative called PEACEwater which helps implement and provide these filters for communities in that region. I'll provide the links in the next few posts so you can look for yourself. Seems pretty awesome though...
even in kidney dialysis you have to replace a filter every time a patient starts the treatment.... I know because I was in dialysis. I am also interested in how 55 dollars can cover clean water for life. If anyone knows the actual details of this system please explain. :)
Yesterday on the radio they explained that this filter is more like the ones used in kidney dialysis. Its not some pitcher from Target where they make $ every time you have to replace their $50 filter (Britta, Zero Water, Pur, etc).
1. How does a water filter work forever for $55.00? I use say a Brita and it needs replaced every so many months / gallons so how is this one different?
2. How exactly does this work to purify ANY water as even home water filters cannot do that.
