Now, I will not boast of these gifts or that I am anything great. All I know is that my understanding and revelation of scripture has increased. My testimony is I never understood the bible until now. The gifts of the Holy Spirit I have received, I do not have to tell anyone. I am not going to have the uninformed or those speaking for the enemy to try to dissuade what I received by faith and by unction of the Holy Ghost. Even the simple and prudent can discern my giftings.

I will continue to pray in the Spirit to God and for my edification. If He gives me the utterance to prophesy, then I will do so. 1 Corinthians 12 talks about spiritual gifts given to the church. Perhaps you need to read all the verses in Act 2, not just two verses my friend! You can prove ANYTHING from the Word if you quote one or two verses! You must read it in context!

Secondly, at Pentecost God gave the apostles the ability to communicate to a multi-cultural crowd through His spirit, AND gave them the ability to speak in heavenly tongues. Try listening to a variety of teachings on this issue from ALL sides.

@thebrain8188 can you quote scriptures stating tongues is a heavenly language. 1 Cor 13 or 14 don't. When Paul says if I speak in tongues of men or of angels it is hyperbole- like if I say I walk a hundred miles or dive to the bottom of the ocean but do not have love...

In 1 Cor 14 it's like if I go to a meeting of only english people and spoke french-it only builds me up and only God understands. 1 Cor 14 is a rebuke of improper attitude towards tongues. Sounds like todays church

@jrmaximus 1Cor 13 heavenly language, 12 apostles on the day of Pentecost spake with heavenly languages which they received miraculously. Heaven speaks with all the languages which are in this world. So it was a miracle from God for the apostles to speak all languages of this world.No one can do that any more.And apostle Paul is not rebuking any one in chapter 14,he simply instructs all churches how to deal with another language if some one speaks in the church.

In fact that their speech could be heard by all people everywhere, because they spake with other languages, and all they languages are written in Acts 2:9-11.
