she is soooo pretty they clearly used her image to draw tiana probably the most prettiest princess now(over taken ariel) and has the best voice Aurora (from sleeping beauty)used to be the best singer but i think thats about to change hope the music and story is just as good, unlike Coal Black by Warner Brothers disney takes its time makin the best disney thought of a black princess in the early 90's with animted version of Adia (they did a live action one in the 50s) but never got made.
But only 10 or so years later Anika would recieve a Tony on the same stage with her, and then went on to share the Broadway stage with Ms. Rashad (and was directed by her sister). Dreams, really do come true if you just believe in YOU. Anika always believed in who she was and her ability to perform, that's why she's where she is today.
There is an inspiring/true story of one of Anika's first encounters with Phylicia. She had just graduated from college when she met Ms. Rashad after one of her performances in Blues for an Alabama Sky. She was an "unknown" then.
I want to see this soooooo badly! It's so cool that they decided to use an all African American cast. I have a feeling that a bunch of the cast members are going to receive Tony nominations b/c they are all so AMAZING!
She is such a wonderful example of talent, refinement & pure class. :-)
