@hephaestion1990 I'm not sure since I haven't seen the movie in a while, but now that I think about it, the only thing not in the ballet are the words to the waltz.
@dracoslover123 no, most of the music of the movie is from the ballet, but there's also additional music composed by George Bruns that was added to Tchaikovsky's score. For example, the track "Maleficent's Evil Spell" is based on the pas for the Puss in Boots and the White Cat, but it also contains an oboe solo that is not originally by Tchaikovsky. The same is true of "Blue or Pink", the parts of "The Gifts of Beauty and Song" where the chorus sing about the gifts, and so on and so forth.
I am learning this solo now and I just need to get the pace right before it is perfect!!!! This is a great example of the pace and actually......everything!!
i did this exact same troix and it is just do freaking fast and it gets hard. and its soo tireing in the end of the music you are dead. the make it seem very easyy! but it is really hard
@mar1dsb I think this music is actually in the disney sleeping beauty. The puss in boots variation from the ballet is maleficent's theme in the movie :)
@mar1dsb It's the same music. Almost all of the music from Disney's Sleeping Beauty comes from the original music Tchaikowsky composed for the ballet.
they make it look so easy. i'm doing stones this year for my studio and we have easier choreography but if that's hard, then how do they do this... and so beautifully?
That's what I love so much about the POB, they are so precise and synchronised. So exactly in time with music and each other even in the corps de ballet. POB- C'est magnifique!
yeah i agree with you, i've noticed the POB are like that from the vids i've seen. However, i do think that on the downside sometimes i think the emphasis on precision has led to a lack in expression in their performances. For instance their Don Q is great, esp. with Dupont, but it doesn't have the fire and flare than other comps i've seen here like ABT
i disagree - have you ever seen their productions of giselle or la bayadere, or even swan lake? perfection; really mind-bogglingly good. i think the difference between POB and ABT is that POB's means of expressions tend to be very subtle, depending more on movement than facial expressions.
I'm doing this dance in my summer showcase!!

My high school orchestra just did a string arrangement for Jewel Dances. The symphonic version is so much more...lively.
