music that makes me cry from happiness is the best kind....in a nutshell...m83.....im obsessed..... aaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhh....okay yeah...saturdays=youth is my fave.
I got a chance to see them here in L.A. They played most of the song that I hoped they would, but the highlights were: We Own The Sky, a sick-ass version of Asterick, and of course Teen Angst. Quality Band! Either you like or you don't, not much else to it.
Any other similar band would performed the fake way (Daft Punk or Chemical Brothers, anyone?) where they merely play the music while standing stationary, looking at their laptops.
M83 actually PLAYS music, even if it was originally composed on a computer. Hell, even generic drum beats that fit any electronic song are being played by a drummer.
Though this album was a tad more rock or acoustic oriented... I'd like to see them do the entirety of "Saturdays=Youth"
I agree with you with their talent for playing even the most complex regions of their arrangements. But I feel strongly that, -especially Daft Punk- aren't merely playback artists as you suggested. Albeit what they do is a different area of music entirely, especially that of performance, there is still a huge amount of skill and talent involved in what Daft Punk do live. It's easy to underestimate. But yeah for the most part I agree.

That wasn't even radiohead's best let alone the best ever :L Radiohead's best was probably Kid A. then computer then rainbows.
Best ever is probably Without You I'm Nothing, Kid A, or Turn On the Bright Lights
....for me :P

Its almost like music composed of the feeling of taking a big hit, from a sweet, sweet 'scented cigarette' ... ,,,
