Korea is a very homophobic country; the country is very conservative (a lot of Koreans are Christians and there are some cultural beliefs as well). The Korean drama, Life is beautiful featured a gay couple. Some organization wanted to stop the airing of the show because they're afraid it'll turn their sons gay. Gay marriage isn't allowed; some Koreans don't think there are any gay people in Korea. Do a little research. :)

Gah. Youtube word limit. But yeah, their country is homophobic, if you watch that lesbian drama, you'll understand a bit more about it. But they are progressing little by little (the younger generation is a lot more accepting), but for the most part, gay people aren't regarded nicely. The actor Hong Seok Chun came out and he lost his job and many friends in the showbiz. It wasn't until recently that he started getting popular again. It makes me sad :(
