I'm waiting for Metallica to have a pure thrash album that can match up to what current thrash bands have been bringing out

hey, I have a guitar that has EMGs, and when they we're installed, he put a cheap looking 9v battery for them and it didn't really sound that great. But now after a year, I finally bought a new 9v battery, a very good brand this time, and the tone was absolutely jaw dropping!! Could it be because the quality of the battery matters, or could it be because the earlier battery maybe had already been used a little?
