@MrDHdavid Windows 7's minimum is 512MB, so you won't have any problem. Windows 7 is stripped down to work on old hardware.

This is NOT an UPGRADE, as pertaining to the UPGRADE PRICE Microsoft offers. Meaning... you cannot use the UPGRADE DVD to UPGRADE XP... You have to purchase the Full Install DVD. In essence you are upgrading XP by saving files, but you are still paying the full install price instead of the Upgrade price, therefore, it is NOT a true upgrade.

If you have a 64bit machine you can use a 32bit or a 64bit version of Windows 7 but I would recommend a 64 bit copy if you have a 64bit system
