     :)

  • @Wrecless1985 you can dwnload the app via app manager, jst make sure you have the correct repos enabled.

  • why when i type root in x_terminal it gives me "not found"?i am waiting for a response, please.thank you.

  • @innnaXD Give the proper app version a try. You don't need to follow this guide anymore.

  • what is the name of the app your using to make the battery meter colored?

  • @natedog400 That is correct and I have informed ppl of that. This is an old video and ive not done an update to this apart from adding a small note that a proper app version is available and you don't need to follow this guide.

The search feature is still in the app manager, it is not visible you just have to go to ALL and press a letter on the keyboard. Folk should certainly know that by now as it was changed in PR 1.2

  • Once you have installed the program I recommend that you disable the extras-devel repo because it might prompt you to install updates to your other programs that are still alpha grade and might be quite buggy. There is a reason it is called the developer repository.

  • @ouzomitsos python does exist and if you read the updates on the video then you would know that you no longer need to do this method as an app is available.

  • The current version of callblock.py does not block the calls from "Unknown number". When you receive a call from "Unknown number", the parameter callernumber of handle_call is actually an empty string. So, in order to block the calls from "Unknown number" you can check whether the length of callernumber is 0. I made this small change in the script and works just fine.

Simply replace the line "if callernumber in blocklist:" with "if callernumber in blocklist or len(callernumber) == 0:"

  • Hi! Please tell me how do you have the "search" option in App. Manager and how can you make the apps size to be displayed? Thanks!!!

  • great job mate. . n900 rocks

  • I tried to install pygame on my phone but it says incompatible package

  • dude i just bought new n900...i want to make a folder like u have in the main menu (MORE) can u tell me how can i make it?

  • it not working mayb it is the callblocker script that not woking idk

  • i do not have search option in my app manager..............how do u get that

  • how do u send file using n900?? piture and music video

  • how do i install that app?

  • @yashasyuth make sure u got the other repositories enabled. go to app manager then search for pycallblocker app there. If you dont know which repositories then check my other vids or google it as there is also a wikki page on it. Its easy

  • @360NextLevel pycallblocker app works great,thanks.

    never knew it existed.lol

  • i have done exactly wat you have said and my command was accepted without any errors but the number i typed in blocked callers is not gettin blocked..in fact any number is not getting blocked! Is there anything wrong that i might have done? please help.

  • @yashasyuth you do not need to do this method anymore, there is a gui app available for this which you should install.

  • 6.07-6.20.."it is a pretty rubbish phone guys, wouldn't advise to get it!" that just made me LMFAO!

  • it was really helpful ,i did it and it worked out ,though it stops working when call blocker calls us when our call is active.

  • @jaimin69 hopefully a future update will fix this issue. There may also be other similar apps that come out and do the job better, but for now this is all we have to use.

I would like to see private numbers get blocked

  • on behalf on mynokiaworld, thanks man!

  • hey my question is compeletly out of the topic..i just wanted to know..where did u get ur baterry icon from?? plz tell me..i need to get that icon.thnx

  • @tarindersinghbhatia I have pm'd you as it is impossible to post any links on here with google's security

  • @360NextLevel thnx buddy

  • cool video love the new nokia n900 phone did not realize how good till now lol

  • Hello

    Theres a problem with pyCallBlocker

It only works when you are on standby but when during phone call blocked number is able to call you automaticaly disconnecting your current call. Same as you are typing a sms msg or using any applications. Can you confirm pls. Or maybe theres solution?

  • You may need to setup your call diverts, as it shouldn't disconnect your current call. Also try switching your n900 off, remove the battery for a while then switch it back on & test it (it may still not fix it but you can try it to see if it helps). It could also be a bug in the app itself. Bare in mind this app is in testing stage, so bugs & errors are inevitable! Hopefully more updates will be avail for this app and will fix the issues.

  • @360NextLevel

kindly do let us know, and we do encourage you to develop such application in near future

  • Hey bro.. I got prb.. first of all the python file is only 437kb.. secondly i have done wht u sed.. but it gives me error.. Can u hlp?

  • what error do you get? Please do note that there is an app available. You still need to the python script installed for it. So go into app manager and search for pycallblocker and install that.

  • Comment removed

  • it works only if u let the terminal oppen..

  • whats that widget u have on the upper right?

  • API News widget. Comes default amongst other apps on the n900 but you still need to install it to be able to use it.

  • oh ok. thanks. ya im not interested in it haha. i thought it was a social network widget like facebook or something :P

  • lol there is 1 for facebook as well and there are a few others and some plugins. I would recommend checking out the Extras-Devel repo if your interested but just be careful as these apps are in testing stage :)

  • ya i dont really like the facebook one. it would be so much better if when you click on a status, it would take u straight to that status so u could reply. but anyways i dont wanna side track too much... lol. thanks for the call blocker vid.

  • As i mentioned in the video that an app will be available for this soon........well it is already out! They sure don't waste their time :-P

The app you need folks is called pyCallblocker and is available in Extras-Devel repository. Ive tested it and it works, no other new features added but its easier to add an delete numbers you want to block :)

  • Is it possible to block the "private caller" type, those without sending the caller ID info?

  • Unfortunately you can't. I wish we could but don't worry, there should be an app out soon. At least you now know that call blocking is possible and you could use it for general use for now.

  • @val4utube

Yes it is. Just add "private call", "unbekannter teilnehmer" or whatever appears on your screen when a private caller calls you to the blocklist and it will work. I tried it witch pycallblocker

  • sweet

  • another great video from you mate!!! keep it up!! cheers

  • thanks! :)

Thought id surprise u folk as this jst came out today! I dne the 1st time install in this video and I did cme accross a problem(where it wasnt working) bt it was so silly as it was due to mis-leading guides out there. I eventually figured out the problem myself an have added in my own guide for ya's.
