Awesome video. Anyone got wind that the Founder of Prehistoric Channel has written his first thriller book. THE ICE GORILLA book is now being looked at by movie producers who want to turn it into a movie, but this depends on how well the book in fact sells. Has anyone read THE ICE GORILLA book yet????
This was actually a remake of an earlier bw version. I don't know what year it was made but I saw it on TV in the fifties. More than it was likely made in the forties.
I remember flipping the channels late night and I see this on the spanish channel, luckily nothing was really said at all so there was no translation which is good. But I remember thinking WHAT THE HELL IS THIS. It was, for some reason, really amusing and I couldn't stop watching it. Then I see the beautiful cave woman and mostly because of her I kept watching. Today I found out it was Raquel Welch, NO WONDER!!
This movie was always one of my favorites and will be for many years to come. My favorite scene is when the allosaur imaples himself on the spear. Simply a marvelous scene.
Heavily inaccurate but I didn't care. It was one of my favourite movies in my childhood, with Jason and the Argonauts. Harryhausen's stop motion was much more poetic than CGI effects.
One of my favorite dinosaur movies since Jurassic Park. Man, Ray Harryhausen's Ceratosaurus is cool! The music is amazing, addicting, and beyond spectacular!
Oh I love this. Nascimbene is one of my favorite composers. I love this score, and the scene where the little allosaur attacks them in their beach camp is just terrific.
I love Raquels stories about this movie. Like when she asked the cantankerous British director what her motivation was, and he screamed at her, Look, you see that rock over there. Thats Rock A. You run from Rock A to Rock B. You run and run. Because if dont run you are going to get eaten by the fucking dinosaur!
@starringJayMcK -- Not exactly went down that way. The "cantankerous" British director was the late great Don Chaffey, who also directed JASON & THE ARGONAUTS as well as THREE LIVES OF THOMASINA and many episodes of the classic PRISONER television series. He didn't really scream at her when she asked him about her motivation, but he was annoyed. At one point when Raquel wanted to cross a boundary established by Harryhausen, Don explained that her boobies would disappear behind a matte line.
I searched for scenes of 100 million bc movie for compare both. Both are equally ridiculous and surreal, but at least 100 million years ago was dinosaurs on Earth, while 1 million years ago the creatures of Earth was identical to the currently living ones :-)
some really good stuff here

Well, they may have been stop-motion, but these were some pretty good special effects (considering that it was 1966).

@ImperialVideoService Dumb fun, much like a guilty pleasure. Nothing like today's CGI low budget crap.

better efects than the gay movie 100 million bc. and this was made in 66. 100 million bc was made in 2008!

@browns531 Not better effects, but better use of them. There is so much more poetry in these old stop motion creatures ... Harryhausen rules.
