Have you played F-Zero GX? If you're hesitant to use boost in the SNES version, you should see how hectic is gets in GX on the Gamecube. Now that's hectic. Many complain that GX is way too fast. Not me though because I love speed :D
I only remember 3 launch titles in the US, so it wasn't much more than what Japan got.
SMW, FZero, and Pilotwings.
This game is awesome. You can jump the track on Port Town, but they penalize you for it. I disagreed with that - it's not a huge shortcut and it's very risky, so I think they should have let you get away with it.
F-Zero is one of the best games and has some of the best music! White Land, Big Blue, Mute City, and Fire Field are some of the best tracks in the game!!
Big Blue and Death Valley are 2 of the greatest video game soundtracks ever written. When I was young as I got ready for school, I would throw F-Zero on Time Trial on either Death Valley or Big Blue and just sit there at the start line and let the music play as I got ready for school. Those were the days.
sim city is a relaese title and when i bought my friends snes he had it so im woundering if when his parents got it was around the realese date but like most of my games i got from him for snes it has the instruction manual so it might by worth something if i had the box ha ?
Yo, awesome vid, as usual you are quality, I'm still a few months away from doing my own, but till then I really dig your material and appreciate your down to earth honesty with everything you cover. So today's my Birthday, lol, and I spoiled my self by scoring a SNES with Controller, Hookups (yes A/V cables :) not RF, Star Fox and Donkey Kong Country for 30$ at a local thrift shop, I think I made out pretty good, F-Zero is on my list,!!!!!
Well I dunno whats wrong with you but I can see the video just fine in IE and Firefox3. I guess its your crap computer. Otherwise I'm simply filling the empty space on the sides that would otherwise be unused while keeping the aspect ratio of the game footage in its original format. Don't like if Fuck off and make your own damn videos bitch.
It was my second SNES game! I love it! Did you play F-Zero X on N64? One of the best 3D racing Games ever! Btw. Mute City is one of the best old school gamemusic tracks ever :o)
great review and I'm bidding on a copy on ebay at the moment.
I wanted to ask you is what would you recommend I use for cleaning the cartridge terminals on a SNES and NES. As recently I was given a box of old classic NES carts and they are a bit dirty on the terminals.
please stop adding the border on the sides. you are not helping anything. i can watch the old videos you made jsut fine without the borders in full screen without any black bars. with these borders on the sides you make black bars on the top and bottom and also shrink the screen in full screen. it is kinda getting annoying having videos that don't take up the whole screen anymore.
forgot to say that i like the game and wish i had mine still. they did kinda have a sequel to this from wiki
"A sequel of the first F-Zero game was canceled, but was still released under the names of BS F-Zero Grand Prix and a year later by BS F-Zero 2 Grand Prix. This unfinished sequel was instead released for the Super Famicom's satellite-based expansion, Satellaview, during the mid-1990s in Japan.[2][10]"
When I watch old videos on YouTube I get black bars on the side so I'm only filling the useless space with something. The screen size is no smaller than full screen mode. I'm simply filling the sides rather than stretching the game footage to 16:9. I prefer to keep the game footage in its original aspect. For the black bars on the sides (video player, youtube page not adjusting) it may be because I'm using Firefox3? But I don't get any black bars on the top and bottom of 16:9 videos!
do you have a wide screen monitor or a 4:3 stranded monitor? wide screen might do that but i would think most people still have 4:3 monitors now. i can take a screen shot if you want and show you what i see.
The pink car has the highest speed but the slowest acceleration and control when turning. the green one was on the other end I think, slowest top speed but easiest on corners which made it my favourite car. the others were in between.
Have you ever played the Gamecube version? I use to have the Gamecube version and OMG that's one of the hardest racing games I ever played. But its still alot of fun.
Yeah, visually it's quite similar. No rotation, and a bunch of obstacles, but you're piloting a ship and if I recall there are similar regeneration zones like in F-Zero.
i wish this was released on the ds with online and 8 player single cart multiplayer!!!
