DUDE POUND FOR POUND BACK IN THE DAY.....MEL BRIDGEMAN WAS ONE OF THE BEST FIGHTERS EVER IN THE NHL...GUY COULD GO WITH BOTH HANDS HAD GREAT BALANCE...GUY WAS TOUGH AS THEY COME!
The problem with hockey fights today is that most people are more interested in throwing the least amount of punches as possible and making the fights as short as possible...
Milbury was a total fag but you'd never know by the way he talks as an announcer....All of a sudden he's a tough guy. Total jerkoff and a horrible coach/GM
This is the kind of GOON Hockey that needs to be brought back into the NHL, asafp. Even the crummiest teams would sell tickets if they brawl every game. Bring back the good old 70's hockey and lift the bench clearing rule also. With slim pickins in the ALLSTAR category, the NHL needs to bring back something more entertaining, until some Wayne Gretzky/Mario type players hopefully come along in the next few years. GOON HOCKEY! GOON HOCKEY! GOON HOCKEY!
Terry was the best Cherry era Bruin PERIOD. Bravest fighter, best overall player, classiest person on and off the ice, and by FAR the hardest worker. They haven't been the same since he left.
Not true at all...He POUNDED Jiri Gillis on December 9th 1979. I was there. He also pounder Jack Carlson, whom is part of the family that the Hanson Brothers from the movie Slapshot were based on, and Lindey Ruff on march 25th of 1982. Mike was a black belt, and a fairly tough guy, but his balance on the ice was atrocious and he lost far more than he won.
Milbury can only win when he beats on kids. What a coward. Today Milbury pretends this never happened. That he got beaten... bad.
