i got a longboard, but it's one of them huge cruisers and i really wanna start doing this stuff. you think it's possible to do this on a normal street deck if i throw some high duro wheels on it? i know that slide boards are wider and longer than normal street decks, but i don't got the cash to get another board right now
Tech sliding's my true calling, been doing a lot of standies'n'shit erlier on my race boards, and now i've been riding my crewzer with slide-a's for two day's, thanks to this video i nailed BS 360 today, some really clean one's towards the end of the day, FS is alot harder though, doing the last half toeside is scary shit.
Sergio's style is unmatched, in the last 90 degrees of the BS 360 he holds it out like a regular 180, tried it and it's hard!
i dunno, man- chrisl dahl and make benda tend to ooze character too. and that mike short guy's got some serious spark. although, aside from sergio and cookiehead- the gravity team is pretty vanilla.
Well, the lower the durometer for your wheels is, the faster they're going to wear. It's also easier to slide if you use high duro wheels. you should use around 90+, the harder the better.
Also, bearing spacers help too. Your bearings will last longer and you get more even wear on your wheels, so less flat spots.
@ICatchMoreFrogs low duro is for more grip and less slide, they will wear down faster because they are softer and ment for control on corners. when they do eventually wear down you can slide with them (i am sliding on 75duro atm) . wheels with higher duro can be slide as soon as you throw them on. 90+ duro seems a little dangerous if you ever pick up too much speed.
nah any board is good a 45 is good when it becomes almost impossible i think it is when it's like in the 50's just get some hard wheels like earthwing or abec11 noskoolz, strikers get then in a (86a) or higher no lower if you are a beginner what you want to look for is the durometer to be higher than 86 the durometer is basically the a next to the number like if your say (78a) then thier soft so just look for that with a 86 or higher ohh and dnt get bigzigs or zigzags they aret ment for sliding
sick sliding bro, im starting to slide, i got me a 85a wheels, compared to those is much harder to slide 360 as smooth as that?, im getting it , but i can tell that those wheels are much harder...,.,
sick shit maaan! i love to slide jehehehe really high
Don't get me wrong, I've always had the utmost respect for Serg's skills; he could whoop my ass blindfolded, with both hands tied behind his back. But man...he acts like such a dork! I'm not sure it's just cultural differences, either.
But I guess when you have badass skills like he does, you can get away with being a retard, too. :)
I don't see how your comment was relevant in the slightest, but...ok. Yes, I know where he's from. And being bilingual is hardly a big deal; MOST people speak at least two languages. Relative to the rest of the world's population, the US and Canada are unusual in that most of their citizens are monoglots. Personally, I am fluent in two languages, and can muddle my way through two others; a fact which doesn't make me (or any other multi-lingual person) special in the slightest.
i totally agree with you if you watch some skate vids from both you can tell the difference in thier styles dahl does some crazy penjulem slides etc while sergios got crazy 360+ stand up slides.

you can slide pretty much any board. and depending on the wheels, you just have to break them in.
