if you listen the first thing the announcer says is - there was contact - that was Geoff hitting bumping Brett first .... and Brett being a better driver was albeo to maintain control ...then he gave back what he got to Geoff who lost control - Team Brett on this one
I hate Brett for this incident. Geoff had a very good chance to win this race. And the Hoosier tires gave him a solid advantage over the other competitors. Kind of ironic that Brett would never again finish in the top 5 for the rest of his career.
"I would never take a family problem or a personal problem out on the race track. I race the 7 and I race the 75 car just because they have the same name as mine doesn't mean I treat 'em any different...it's not like that at all." -Brett Bodine
I remember watching this live and wondering how only 2 cars got caught up with all that confusion.
If this had happened on one of the short chutes or the back stretch there would have been more caught up. The pit road retaining wall start kept Jarrett from drifting on the course more and taking out more cars.
"We've had some family problems, some personal problems between the two of us, and (Brett) unforunately took it out on the race track and never expected he'd do it. He's my brother I love him, but he spun me out." -Geoff Bodine

Do you have Geoff's interview? I saw this race on ESPN Classic last year and the interview was a classic.

Wow. Talk about how much NASCAR has changed. There were a bunch of scrubs in this race.

Haha this sibling rivalry reminds me of the All-Star race in 2007.

A very memorable driver interview. I was surprised that Geoff aired that laundry on live TV. He had a very fast car that day, though.

I now remember that Geoff wasn't happy that Brett spun him out.
