I concur with davidscalling. Happy and sad lithium generation X precursors born in the era of the emerging hippy generation peace and love movement. Mike Scott is on the same level if not on a superior spiritual creative journey through his work as any of the main stream popularized rock stars of our era. His melodic sounds are a blessing and his lyrics seem straight out of what seems to be a very close relationship with God.
I lost my daughter through mariage breakdown - we would always finish our converations that we loved each other from the moon to the ground, I can't hear this song without completely breaking down.

Hey its just my opinion were all entitled to one, like i said i think the lyrics are gibberish, the tune is ok, especially when you you've had one over the eight in some crappy night club.
And in reply to your answer sonny and just for the record even though i don't see what it has to do with my comment, i am 24 and in love with my beautiful wife and two sons.
If you want to listen to a true love song than i recommended Diana Ross "Touch Me In The Morning"
I think it's hard to relate to a song if you don't understand it's background, what sounds like jibberish to you might have significance to someone else. 80's music was perplexing because it was both happy and sad at the same time, both light and dark, shallow & deep, where as music today is more or less strait forward lyics that ryme and are mainly about simple sex or getting booty. So it's easy for older stuff like this to go over peoples heads today.
Well said, although I disagree that the lyrics are gibberish. Also, if you want a REAL love song, listen to Rhianna Boss "Touch me on my Pecker"...you will weep for hours!!!

Quando à música é boa, ela nunca envelhece, fica sempre em evidência, e é o caso desta canção, ela é eterna, ela é muito linda!
Abraços à todos!

You really need to hear this song at volume on a really good quality sound system. Only then do you catch its full exuberance. A great eulogy.

I used to like this song, not anymore, its an ok tune, but you need to have good lyrics in a song, the lyrics in this song are nonsensical.
