  • bus accidents are terrible for familes have kids that sons or daughters that get killed in bus accidents our school has a tree planted next to the main entrance the school planted a tree for a girl that got killed in a bus accident 21 years ago june 1 1989

  • "The driver of the SUV was ticketed for running a red light."

WTF?!? The driver just gets a ticket for running a light and knocking a bus on it's side injuring children? The driver should have been given a charge for doing this.

  • Epic Fail, Arlington...

  • 10 years jail time! also, it must have been a very unstable bus!

  • Theys was kids being puts in Amublances and Policemanszz everywherezz!!

  • Really funny. If I was there I'd point and laugh so hard.

  • Yeah! You'd be laughing and the next thing you know, you see your kid being carted off in the ambulance. You are so intelligent. I'm so freakin' impressed. I'd knock half your teeth out, you piece of crap. Those were kids on that bus! your a real class act! United Kingdom? Your an insult to your countrymen!

  • You're vs Your. There's a difference, learn it.

  • and, the seats are made to take an impact in case of a crash. all buses manufactured in the state of texas after 2008 will be required to have seat belts. will c how well that works when the kids do not use them.

  • i drive for the same district and remember that day very well. even if there were seatbelts, its impossible to make every child wear a seat belt. if those kids were in seat belts, they would have been hung up and stuck in those seats which would have caused a huge panic among the children. the thing that saved these kids is the evacuation drills that we do for every school in the district. until you drive a school bus full of children, you can not argue this since you do know what its like.

  • lordvader2822...your comment is just another excuse on why some states have not put these simple safety devices on school buses.

I dont understand why some people like you want to argue and are brainwashed to believe that seatbelts would just be a waste as if these belts are no good at all.

If these belts can save only one life (as in our cars and suv's) and even your childs then they will be worth the time effort and money.!

When rescue vehicles arrive they can always cut the seatbelts!

  • Another very good reason for an enhanced seatbelt law that should include seatbelts for these buses in the event of a terrible crash. Without seatbelts the children go airborn and suffer trauma. I understand some states have seatbelts on their school buses.

Mention this( install seatbelts ) to your school board and see how many excuses you receive.

  • no if there bus in a crash the seatbelt would lock

  • Well, based on your comment and if this is proven as you have said, then it seems to me that the safety manufactures only need to make a better or more simple device that will not lock in the event of a crash!

I believe this could be done if only the government demands this to be improved.

Then, there should be no more excuses!!

  • i would be scared

  • Shit!

The SUV drivers in a shit load of trouble!

What could be worse than hitting a school bus?

  • this is pretty sad how the world is....

  • yep that's quite a story you have there..." yeah, it was scary." rofl

  • My little brother was in this =(

  • =( I hope hes ok

  • Hope hes ok!

    Kids r pretty resilient.

They cope with accidents better than adults physically because they r lighter and more flexible.

The effects on the mind must be a bit terrifying?

Be scared of getting the bus etc?

  • WOOOT yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn that dumb SUV driver.
