  • So are we good with the 17mm wrench/socket? I'm changing the oil on my g/f's '07 Accord in a couple of days. Only thing is I have to use ramps so turning the wheel may be a problem. Thanks for the video!

  • @tcclark77 yeah you can still get too the oil filter with ramps. The oil filter may be very tight so before you even try to drain the oil, break loose the oil filter first

  • @GrindTimeAuto ...Thanks again and Happy Holidays to you!

  • Under 14 dollars since when??? Autozone online! decent oil price shows $ 5.29/Quart. You need 4.5 quarts plus filter...Thats 23.80 Dollars Plus the cost of filter another 5 or so dollars Plus Taxes. So it is not necessarily cheap to change oil yourself.

  • @blasterr Wow you really don't know how to get oil and a filter at that price?

  • @GrindTimeAuto Where at buddy help me out...Tell me how and where to buy it? Thanks.

  • @blasterr Autozone regular oil PEAK OIL 5+QUARTS WITH FILTER $14.99 If your there everyday like I am they give you a discount on every purchase

  • great video guy, thx. Do you know of any video for the gen 7 4 cyl oil change?

  • @pallatanga thanks,Next time I see a accord with the 4cyl i'll post a video

  • Yo did you say 17mm is size of Drain Bolt ? The manual says you have to buy a special tool from Honda to open bolt ?

I just bought a 06 V6. Gonna try to change it tonite with 17 mm. Thanks.

  • @spacyfoil I'm pretty sure its just a regular 17mm bolt on the drain pan

  • any suggestion on how tight does the drain bolt needs to be? like how many turn after hand tighten?

  • @athiam152 less than 14ft lbs those things can strip easily, tighten with hand first then use your ratchet a little less than quarter of a turn.LESS THAN 14FT LBS!!!!!

  • do u use 5w-20 like the manual says or something heavier

  • @amgad3 5w-30.Honda uses 5w-20 just to get that last hp and mileage from engine.I feel 5w-20 is way to thin.5w-30 is like water at 2500 miles.Imagine what 5w-20 would be like

  • @GrindTimeAuto thanx , i usually use 5w 30 for an 02 accord but wasn't sure about it.

  • great video, looking at replacing my current vehicle with an 07 accord v6....this looks so easy to change I can't change the oil in my current GTI without a car lift due to it's complicated cartridge type filter.

  • Thanks for he filter hint!! I have took of the filter from underneath very messy!!
