Thank you for sharing your story. Today, it has helped me remember what the Savior did, and my duty to forgive, because he has already paid the price for ALL sin and pain.
Such a truly beautiful message of forgiveness and love. Cameron and Ron White spoke to the youth in my stake at a fireside tonight about this incident, the lessons learned from this experience has reached out to the hearts of everyone there.-3 all things are possible through the atonement of Christ-even forgiveness to those who seem harder to forgive
Warning.....do not watch at work..unless you want coworkers to ask why you're crying :-) absolutely inspiring. Anyone of any faith has to certainly feel the spirit while watching this. Ty for telling this story
I like to Chris my testimony and I want said to him. He is a I know that my testimony is true and thank you for being that person to forgive your trail and just move on
I have a deep flaw in which I tend to hold grudges. I know it is because I lack a better understanding of the Atonement. This video shows me how much I have yet still to master on repentance and forgiveness. I find that I am often in Chris Williams' shoes, yet I have yet to receive the level of love in which I need to forgive others so willingly. I think and believe that those who are worthy of our Father's glory are those ever so willing to forgive.
Not only is the message in this video amazing, but so is the cinematography! I loved everything about how this video is put together! Amazing work. Does anyone know who directed/produced/edited this and where they went to school?
I used to think love and forgiveness were the only two commandments, but they aren't. Faith that Jesus is the only way because no one else ever gave their life for you, and also stay true to all the commandments as these are life saving, all have earthy consequences. We were told to confess ALL your sins - you'll be forgiven. Also we were told then TO TURN AWAY from sin, so not just confess it but also turn away from it.

@laurelsdesign I can't imagine how hard it is for you.. I strongly express my love and sorrow for you.. But i honestly believe you can forgive them, through immovable faith and love, you can do it. Notice how Chris didnt forgive him, himself, but through Jesus Christ, pray, faith, it was made possible that Chris forgave them. I feel you should definitley pray to Heavenly Father, and literally POUR everything in your heart you Him, i promise you if you do it with a full and sincere heart.
@laurelsdesign At least know that you are in the process....that you want to forgive. The emotions do not have to dictate whether one must forgive or not. It is a decision....in spite of the emotions. I pray you will forgive and find hope.
Sad and beautiful story. My heart goes out to the families involved in this tragic situation.
Chris, you are an example of the generosity we should have in our hearts, to be able to forgive those who have done us wrong, and also to be forgiven for our trespasses.
May God keep you and yours in the palm of His hand.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and it's lesson with the world.

Forgiveness is difficult it's painful and it's trying on the heart and mind, but I can witness that once you have given it, your burdens are truly lighter.
What a wonderful story.. From watching this you really can see that Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways and things happen for a reason. It looks as though that mans family already had a good relationship with Heavenly Father and they were right with the lord but there was a brother who needed help and this is how it happened.. Very Christlike for the man to get through this major trial the way he did..
What beautiful example of forgiveness this is. This video truly is an inspiration to all who watch it. I hope that I can follow his example and be an example to others of forgiveness. I love this gospel and I am grateful that I am a part of it.
I'm an atheist. I was also a classmate of Cameron's. Chris Williams' has to be a man of extreme moral character. I don't know that many people (Christian or otherwise) would have the power to forgive someone after such a tragedy and I am inspired and amazed by his ability to do so.
I am not Christian but I do BELIEVE in forgiveness wholeheartedly. when someone harms you-the change in your is deep and the depth of your pain changes your whole life. And when you forgive that very person for causing you hurt-you change once more and THEN you become the person who are destined to be. And that my friends is life. So I will forgive the ones who hurt me because I think about my situation every single day and now it is time to let go. :)
We believe that this life is a test. With this we have trials. God gives us heavy burdens that we must try and over come. Not to say that it might seem unfair but it is necessary to test our faith and knowledge. It's almost like crossing a river using stepping stones, each stone being a trial. LDS people are strong with a good testimony. They can actually genuinely love someone. Whether you believe or you don't you can't deny the fact that he is a strong man in himself.
@Fugslidy Sometimes those around you can shift the plan that God has for you. Of course God has the power to stop it. But if you just get the answers to the test right away, are you really learning anything? This is something I learned at EFY last summer. I was struggling with anger because my mother died when I was 3, and my dad couldn't keep his sanity. Years of abuse and eventually going through the foster system left me broken and angry. I asked the same question. Ask God for the answer.Pray
Very moving, thank you. I like when Chris says at the end that his trials help him to love. I would also have liked to hear more from the teenage driver and his journey in forgiving himself.
"I'm greatful that god allows tradgedys and trials to occur in our lives, not because they are easy or desired but because they help us love" - Chris Williams your are such a great example to me. Those were the exact words I needed to hear. I know God is truely happy for your example. The world needs more people like you !
I find it crazy how I am always asking this question and receiving NO answer; HOW do you forgive? I need to forgive because I feel STUCK. It is amazing how the people who hurt you eventually move on and stop caring about the pain they caused you. They get on with their lives while you are stuck where they left you. It angers me. I deserve to move on more than they do! This is really tearing me up. Anyway... this man is something else. God Bless him.
@kweencessX I think I have asked myself this question before in hard times, when it seemed like forgiveness was not even really something I wanted to give to someone else. The best answer I have received is quite simple: it's a gift from God, a Being far greater and more powerful than ourselves. He will bless you with an ability to forgive those who have wronged you and hurt you. Pray for it, it will come. I can absolutely promise you that.
Bless you Brother Williams and bless Joseph Smith too and all the prophets and apostles who have followed him. Without the Gospel we would have no knowledge of the eternities, no Temple covenants to unite our families forever and thus death would have a horrid finality which would render forgiveness so hard to extend to those who hurt, damage or kill our family members. The relationship each of us have with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is enabled by the teachings of the Gospel.
This video is both heart rending, and heart mending. God bless both of those families, and let us all let the profundity of this video's message distill upon all our souls.
I just wanted to say thank you! This video really made an impact in my life. I am a student ar BYU-Idaho, and my Book of Mormon teacher included this video in his lesson, all I can say is that the spirit reigned so strongly in the class when this was shown. It truly taught me a lesson, something that I've been struggling with for awhile now. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. :)
@Sophomorechance He was in jail... he was probably just a kid so he got released early, they don't usually give life sentences to people under the age of eighteen unless they did it on purpose.
I am a devout member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have tried to live the gospel the best I could. I ended up being a member that struggles with alcohol. I had been sober for a long time until last night. I actually got pulled over last night and arrested for a DUI after years of sobriety and because I chose to drink alone. I never had drunk driven before, but I was lucky to be pulled over. Then this morning I stumbled on this video. I am eternally grateful for police
This video hits me every time. if I'm ever angry or frustrated I watch this and the Lord fills me with his spirit. And I thank everyone for posting there testimonies an their experience. Also thank you for not filling this Page with non needed comments about the church. I thank you.
.....I must say....Your a strong man to show such care for the young man who caused this accident.....You really do believe in God other wise this would not be possible.....I find you to be an INSPIRATION.....Something the world show's very little of these days......Two both family's.....strength comes from Love,Pain,Understanding,Learning......I have spoken to some Latter Day Saints...They were kind, supportive, To The sons of this Man...Your DAD IS AWESOME..Thanks for reading..Please respond.
ever since you came to my seminary and gave that devotional, i have looked up to you so much! such a great example of an honestly good and gracious latter day saint.
What power comes from forgiveness. I'm in awe of the difference that comes when forgiveness is granted rather then enmity retained. Sometimes pain is such a wall to overcome that we can't imagine joy resting on the other side, but it is. I'm so thankful for a God who is so loving and fair that He would send His beloved and perfect Son to climb that seemingly impossible ladder first, so that we could follow. How amazing and wondrous.
I know that the Savior Jesus Christ lives. I know that He knows us personally. I have felt His love and seen His hand in my life. I cannot imagine nor do I want to try to imagine what it must feel like to loose some of your loved ones so suddenly and in the way that you did. Nevertheless, I am grateful to you for strengthening me though your example. I know you will be are more like the Savior already than you realize who taught by his living example. I pray you continue on in hope in the Savior
I was glad to still be alive but I did not know the extent of my injuries for a few minutes until my body could somewhat recover from the shock. At some point after the collision and before help arrived, the image of your face from this video I had recently seen came to my mind and I knew instantly that I must forgive as you had regardless of the circumstances. I did so instantly and my heart was filled with gratitude for people like you who strengthen others, for my life, my wife and daughters
Thank you for your testimony. About 4 weeks ago I was riding my motorcycle and as I was about to cross the intersection, I running a red light appeared right in front of me leaving me no time to stop or avoid the collision. I hit the car full force my body flying and landing several feet away from the car and my motorcycle. Miraculously I was still conscious but unable to move for a few seconds. My thoughts right before the impact turned to my baby daughters and my pregnant wife
@Yuki84x Not even just christians, everyone. I am an atheist but I still feel it is really important to forgive people if they are truly sorry. I know that if something horrible like this happened to me, I would HAVE to forgive, or I just wouldnt be able to move on with my life.
I've read where Joseph Smith said that he translated the golden plates (from which he got the Book of Mormon) letter-by-letter, "by the power of God" and that it was "the most correct of any book on earth." If that's true why has the Mormon Church had to make more than 4,000 changes to the Book of Mormon that was originally published in 1830?
@alanarns When Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon, he gave a manuscript without punctuation, paragraphs or sentences to the publisher. The publisher, at his discretion, added these things in. Have you seen how a book was published in 1830? It was extremely laborious-especially type setting. Many printing errors, punctuation, and the layout had to be changed but the actual words were not.
@alanarns Well they added footnotes and references to the bottom of the pages that weren't there originally. There's also scripture that is added to the book as it is revealed by God. But the original writings haven't changed. Unless you're talking about maybe some grammar. But as the introduction states, if there's mistakes they are the mistakes of men. At the end of the day people will say and think what they will but the book has the Spirit of God to testify of it's truth.
@alanarns Wow, talk about missing the point. First off, the majority of changes were made by the addition of chapters, chapter headings, verses, and syntax (for clarification). entirely formatting, NOT doctrinal. That being the case, Mormons' logical basis for their beliefs(true or not remains unchanged from any formatting changes the Book of Mormon has undergone. You're ignorance as great as your impropriety. Now, the important thing; Mormon or Not , Mr Williams faith in his religion is as
@jonnyares1 Mr.Williams Faith is not in his religion. If you see that you have missed what he did and why. His Faith is in our Saviour, and Blessed Hope.....Jesus Christ. The precious Holy Spirit that has been sent to be our comforter and guide has been manifested and become real in Mr.Williams, because he has willed to recieve the Power from Our Lord and Saviour, the Truth, the Life, and the"ONLY" way to eternal life....
Mr. Williams faith in his religion is remarkable. If any religion teaches a person to be like him then that is a good thing. I don't need to be a Mormon to recognize a good example. No matter what; atheist, Muslim, Rastafarian, Jewish, etc.. if the rest of the world could learn to forgive as Brian Williams, then we would see the END of wars. We would coexist with differences, but without conflict. Thank you Mr. Williams for being a good example.
@alanarns The vast majority of those changes where punctuational errors. The manuscript was put to press and the type was set by a technician that also added punctuation. The one real change to any meaning or any word from the original printed text was the change of one word "Christ" to "God".
Don't take my word for it! Read a little and ask God in prayer if it really is "the most correct book on earth." If you really wan't to know the truth he will answer you. His word you can believe for sure
Thank you for your strength. I am LDS too and i hope and pray that i would respond the same way in a situation like that. Jesus truly frees people!!!!!!!
I have felt the Spirit so strong with the testimony of Bro. Williams. God can really help you forget, because He could forget all the ones who crucified His Son.
Three young Mormon guys introduced me to this video earlier today in McDonalds. We sat and watched it on my iPad.
I can't comprehend losing my child in such a way.
This testimony brought tears to our eyes in the middle of that busy restaurant.
I'm not a Mormon, but I do try to walk in the ways of the Lord as best I can each day. This video made me realise just how fortunate many of us are and just how powerful Jesus can be in our lives. I will strive to do better in my daily & family life.
I have lost a mother to schizophrenia, my father to another marriage, and myself to anger. It is time to let it go and hand it all over to God. Thank you God for showing me the truth.
@madfreaky I'm sorry. I hope someday you will be able to see it. It won't come from debate of from intellect. I've learned that the hard way I'm afraid. If you allow him to take the pain/struggle, forgiveness will come relieve the burden.
I feel ashamed for all the times I've had complaint about my small losts. Thank You Chris for your testimony. It has taught me that out there are men of God and it encourages me to collaborate with the Holy Spirit to be such a woman of God. Jesus taught us in the Model Prayer: " And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors." So, God will deliver that same forgiveness in you. That can only be possible when Jesus lives through you. I PRAISE THE LORD FOR THAT I CAN SEE JESUS LIVING IN YOU!!
"Lord Jesus, we pray that you would continue to bring healing to this man's life and that you would take this sad situation and turn it for good. Amen"
Lessons in life are not always easy to learn. The eternally important ones are seldom easy to learn. Brother Williams, thank you for sharing with us. PS I'm sure your wife is very very touched and pleased by your forgiveness.
This is what healing is all about. All is through Christ. Even if people don't believe in Christ they can believe in this kind of forgiveness. But they will know who christ is through the forgiveness they are able to have. Thank you for this video.
This video put me in a state of uncontrollable tears. Br. Williams I can't imagine your grief and the pain you have suffered. I'm amazed at your compassion and ability to forgive. You're example, testimony and faith have touched me deeply. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I want to meet that little boy, the one who, the moment he woke up in the hospital asked where the other driver was. How incredible that is for a child to ask that! And I want to meet the man, too! He seems like such a great example and I want to be like him.
@13evertomorrow i think it was chris who asked how the other driver was. But the fact that even though he had just lost his wife and kids and cared about the life of someone else is moving
Thanks for the good example of forgiveness! I needed to hear something like that!it really helped realize what i was doing bad! =]
Our world needs more people with a testimony of the great power of healing that Jesus Christ gives us.I do know that We can do everything if we trust in Christ!
This man not only helped the one who needed to feel forgiven but has too helped millions through this video, find courage to forgive and know that we can be forgiven too and find peace. What a special experience shared! Thank you!
This is amazing and reminds me of the Amish people after those school children were killed. Plus he actually lost 4 loved one in this accident if you include the baby his wife was carrying. He said she was 5 months pregnant
Very touching story and it applies to all of us. I like the part where Chris realized that he is becoming like Christ as he is being a "man of sorrow, acquainted with grief" -- many of us are dealing with grief from different situations in our lives. We can always turn to Christ for comfort and understanding and strength to overcome and become a better, humble, happier people.
I will always respect the men and women in the history of the world who are able to forgive, because the natural man's instict is to want revenge and such. like the Jack Weyland book "Megan" forgiveness is an amazing gift from the lord that we should all cherish. I'm a mormon 12 yr old and i hope that someday i can be like those who can forgive.
Forgivness if a godly attribute. This video not only shows us how we should all forgive, but also reminds us how much our savior truely loves us and wants us to endure our hardships well, therfore making us stronger and more christlike.
I am deeply amazed and touched by the testimony of this forgiving man, especially that he acknowledged how the Lord Jesus Christ helps us during our times of grief. I cannot imagine how difficult his situation was, but I am grateful for the important lesson this message has shared to me about forgiveness, love, and moving on with the Lord.
This man did not just touched the one he forgave, he touched me too!!! I am sure he touched many as well!! What a man, what a wonderful example!! Thank you for this wonderful video!!!
wow my heart goes out to both families having family members also being victims of drunk driver crashes i didnt forgive them so easily like chris i cried through the whole video, ihave been a member of the church my whole and the gospel has really helped chris and his family forgive
i used to hang out with the older son and my parents are good friends with them, chris is a true man for being so charitable and having so much forgiveness
Br. Williams, thank you for your testimony. It is helping me to face my own challenges. You are a beacon to your children and to all members of the LDS Church. I´m proud to share the same faith you profess. Patricia from Brazil.
Difficult to find words to express my highest admiration to this wonderful man. I don't know him personally but I can identify his example as the same example given by our Savior Jesus and our Heavenly Father. I'm totally sure that thousands of people were touched by this perfect example of forgiveness. It's a shame that many of us struggled so many times to forget picky things with no importance. Charity is possible to be felt and lived in this life. This man is one living proof of that.
I'm so excited today 'cause my quadruple combination just arriv'ed from Salt Lake City in Utah and I'm at my dads house and it got there at my moms house but I can't wait to read it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really didn't think the LDS church could produce a better video than the 'cheerleader' story some month's back. This is equally well done with a POWERFUL message that transcends all cultures and nationalities. Also thank you Mr. Williams for your courage and example. May God continue to bless your life for being a true disciple.
The atonement is real...it works in so many ways and in so many lives. The greatest blessing we have in our live's is the blessing of forgiveness through the atonement. The Savior showed us the way to forgive; hard as it may be, it truely blesses our lives for all eternity! What an amazing family and example!!
He was part of the stake I belonged to when I was in the Imperial 2nd Ward. I was a volunteer for Highland Heights Elementary at the time, where the 2 children attended. We attended the viewing and the funeral - It was the same day as baby shower for Heather expecting Zack and is why I was late getting there. It shows President Wood who I recently found out that he is bro-in-law to my new Stake President Metcalf..
This video reminds me of when home was Sugarhouse...This video is well made!!
My heart goes out to Chris AND Cameron and their families. I can't get over how courageous Cameron had to be to be willing to be on this video. I hope that he takes Chris's advice and moves on with his life. He has his whole life ahead of him. Chris was amazing to give Cameron his life back, through forgiveness.
Our prayers are with both of these families. May God's love continue to heal and bless you.
This video is wonderful. The hardships in life are possible to be overcome through the strengthened of the savior and though my trials have not been near this caliber, I do believe the Lord Jesus is there for me.
I was just speaking to someone today who was angry with another person. I explained to him the need to forgive. I then came home and saw this video and now I know I need to tell him about it.
Speechless.............. God Bless these men!

Whether you believe or you don't you can't deny the fact that he is a strong man in himself.
humachuka 7 months ago 6
@Fugslidy Sometimes those around you can shift the plan that God has for you. Of course God has the power to stop it. But if you just get the answers to the test right away, are you really learning anything? This is something I learned at EFY last summer. I was struggling with anger because my mother died when I was 3, and my dad couldn't keep his sanity. Years of abuse and eventually going through the foster system left me broken and angry. I asked the same question. Ask God for the answer.Pray

God Bless him.
kweencessX 9 months ago

There is no peace on earth,' I said,
'For hate is strong and mocks the song,
Of Peace on earth, good will to men.'
Then pealed the beIls more loud and deep;
'God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With Peace on earth, good will to men'.

I never had drunk driven before, but I was lucky to be pulled over. Then this morning I stumbled on this video. I am eternally grateful for police

Br. Willians,
Thank you for your testimony.

I've read where Joseph Smith said that he translated the golden plates (from which he got the Book of Mormon) letter-by-letter, "by the power of God" and that it was "the most correct of any book on earth." If that's true why has the Mormon Church had to make more than 4,000 changes to the Book of Mormon that was originally published in 1830?
alanarns 1 year ago
@alanarns When Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon, he gave a manuscript without punctuation, paragraphs or sentences to the publisher. The publisher, at his discretion, added these things in. Have you seen how a book was published in 1830? It was extremely laborious-especially type setting. Many printing errors, punctuation, and the layout had to be changed but the actual words were not.
zakorama 1 year ago
@alanarns Well they added footnotes and references to the bottom of the pages that weren't there originally. There's also scripture that is added to the book as it is revealed by God. But the original writings haven't changed. Unless you're talking about maybe some grammar. But as the introduction states, if there's mistakes they are the mistakes of men. At the end of the day people will say and think what they will but the book has the Spirit of God to testify of it's truth.
TurtleRocker12 1 year ago
@alanarns Wow, talk about missing the point. First off, the majority of changes were made by the addition of chapters, chapter headings, verses, and syntax (for clarification). entirely formatting, NOT doctrinal. That being the case, Mormons' logical basis for their beliefs(true or not remains unchanged from any formatting changes the Book of Mormon has undergone. You're ignorance as great as your impropriety. Now, the important thing; Mormon or Not , Mr Williams faith in his religion is as
jonnyares1 1 year ago 2
@jonnyares1 Mr.Williams Faith is not in his religion. If you see that you have missed what he did and why. His Faith is in our Saviour, and Blessed Hope.....Jesus Christ. The precious Holy Spirit that has been sent to be our comforter and guide has been manifested and become real in Mr.Williams, because he has willed to recieve the Power from Our Lord and Saviour, the Truth, the Life, and the"ONLY" way to eternal life....
twarman2 9 months ago
@alanarns
cont.:
Williams for being a good example.
jonnyares1 1 year ago
@alanarns The vast majority of those changes where punctuational errors. The manuscript was put to press and the type was set by a technician that also added punctuation. The one real change to any meaning or any word from the original printed text was the change of one word "Christ" to "God".
Don't take my word for it! Read a little and ask God in prayer if it really is "the most correct book on earth." If you really wan't to know the truth he will answer you. His word you can believe for sure
