  • Sanda/sanshou is a very efektive style

  • wei's more skilled, but skill is not the only factor in a fight

  • the Japnese is so weak, I can even beat him

  • wei is so good.

  • これは何か魏守雷を応援した

  • what the hell is the noise at 3:47 !?!

  • is it true that in K1 fighting you can only land one knee strike in the clinch at a time ?

  • @corekid700 true

  • Seeing this right after the Souwer fight, it's astounding how much Shou Lei's boxing has improved. If his hands had been the same as they were in that fight, the spinning backfist Taiga keeps trying to pull off here would have taken his head off. He's also switched from gratuitous point-taking takedowns to ones with *impact*. It's seriously impressive for him to have come this far in a year.

  • Shoulei still seems to fight quite exposed, lowering his hands. Maybe that works against someone as bad as Taiga, but if you get a bit higher up, you meet people technically capable of punishing for that each time it happens.

Actually, I've seen people in lower regions already capable of that too. That was Dutch kickboxing of course, known for being very good, but still. Shoulei should work on that, and maybe on learning to finish combo's with a kick whenever possible, that scores points.

  • Wow, a Sanda fighter that actually uses punch combos! Amazing!

  • Wei Shoulei is one of the few chinese sanda fighters who are willing to challenge themsevels outside of China under the rules of non sanda matches.

    He has a future.

  • @JKFDDSY2009 he is the only one i agree others wont fight other rules only sanda rules because they cant win if it isnt sanda rules. just like fighint the thais they say its combine rules but anyone who isnt blind can see the rules favor chinese fighter. no thai rules allow only 2 sec clinch.

  • @Taywarit13

So what? Look at the match between Bao Li Gao and Stikcolk(the Thai dude) everytime Bao was about to knock out Stik he got pushed away by the ref but in the end he still KOed him out. I saw that Bukaw fight and each fighter just have to adapt to different rules thats all. It is one thing to say it isn't fair to fight one style in a different rule setting but you sound like you kept bringing race into this as you think Chinese fighters are somewhat inferior.

  • @JKFDDSY2009 muaythai isnt just kick and punch and knee or elbow..but mma is shit to. u seen malaipet fight with denis he got dq for using illegal elbow...i thought mma is any rule goes..guess not. in muaythai elbow to top of head is legal but mma gave malaipet a DQ even though he tko dennis with that elbow. mix martail art? well then let the thai use thier full strength from thier art..it bugs me when they say unified rules but it isnt.

  • his kicks are terrible or the chinese is really good at evading them..hehe...standing guillitines are allowed standing submission is what differs from kung fu sanshou and caesar takeshi's shoot boxing

  • this is a good fight, its got nothing to be with both China and Japan......

  • Man... the guy in the purple was so horrible... his kicks where over-telegraphed and slow and inaccurate, and his kicks where the only good thing...

  • wei one of the best sanda fighters the japanese?? lol who is Lol kid yamamoto sato masato this is the best japanese fighters

  • wei is not the best sanda fighters in 70 KG

there are many better sanda fighters, but they might not have enough experience to fight in non-sanda rule

most of them have few chance to fight outside, and this is the tragedy of Chinese fighter

  • LOL you can do guillotines in shootbox? That's awesome

  • Yuxian09 I just saw the Wei Shoulei vs Andy Souwer fight and he did threw Andy around and did some great take downs. Why did you write "What struck me was that he didn't go throw/ takedowns happy like he did against Souwer. " in the descriptions? Another thing was he was not KO by Andy but lost by decision. Please be a little more fair and accurate next time.

  • he was getting his ass kicked hard though, saved by the bell

  • Yah Andy's knees tore him up but Wei did pretty well in the 1st and second bout though. Wei is only 19 years old and still a nobody in Chinese sanshou scene so I think the kid has a lot of potential to grow.

  • @LP18888 man the chinese never do well outside of china because they dont have the chinese ref helping them out. i notice they always win in china but get ko and lose outside of china. u see in china the chinese ref break up the knee and clinch in 2 sec japanese ref and thai ref wont break it up. and the chinese doesnt know how to get out of the clinch with thier ref breaking it up.

  • @Taywarit13

You obviously have a one sided view on Chinese fighters. I suggest you search for a Chinese fighter named Bao Li Gao who KO a famous Thai fighter in Thailand few years ago and plenty of Sanda fighters won against their Thai counterparts in Thailand. There is a MMA organization called Art Of War FC in China that allow stomp on the ground just like Pride FC. Plenty of Chinese fighters do very well under full contact MMA rules.

  • @LP18888 i'm not one sided and i seen those guys fight thais and like i said its bs rules everytime vs thais. its the 2 sec clinch that really bother the thai fighters,. thais r use to clinching as long as they want..but fighting the chinese they have to break every time they strike a knee.

  • @Taywarit13

For me I rather see Sanshou guys vs MT in MMA rule that way it would be fair to everyone. How is it fair for Sanshou guys to fight in MT rules, that would be unfair to Sanshou isn't it . Besides the MT team agree to fight under Sanshou rules which means they are confident enough so who cares. Some win some lose lets just move on.

  • @LP18888 yera thai got guts to fight in any rules...but that show chinese dont they wont fight outside of san shou rules. and if its mma rules chinese would be kill. thai got killer instinct sanda can throw yes but so can muaythai. but thai fighter dont throw because it dont score much in thai rules.

  • @Taywarit13

Well I suggest you search for ART OF WAR FC it is a MMA organization in China that allows almost anything including stomp to the head and elbow to a down opponent. Plenty of Thai fighters got their asses handed to them by Chinese fighters. So I wouldn't really say which race is superior to another, it is just too damn childish. I am Chinese BTW and I have been training MT for a while so please don't include all "Chinese" in your comments because there are 1.3 billion of us.

  • @Taywarit13 , Thais can't throw. Period. Btw, you know how it feels to be thrown? Especially when you fall on hard floors? It breaks your fking neck. When you break your neck, your system shuts down. Game over.

  • @LP18888, it wasn't a sanshou rule. it was a unified rule. Pad was used on elbow because they want to avoid the cut, not the striking power. Sanda fighters are not allowed to use some throwing techniques. Not the MT guys are over confident but MT guys simply dont know how to deal with throws and sidekicks combo.

  • @LP18888 u saw bukhom who ko the chinese with his knee? it took him until round 4 to ko the chinese because he have to keep breaking. and the ref was so annoying in that fight i was so happy bukhom ko the chinese. anyone who isnt blind can tell that ref was trying to save his fighter. and i never seen a chinese fight under full thai rules. and its funny how the thais all win by ko against the chinese. but chinese win by points. the only chinese to ko a thai was that mongolian dude baoliao

  • @Taywarit13 you really need to look at more sanda vs muay thai fights bao li gao is one of those who koed muay thais. Zhang Kaiyan koed a muay thai and so did Liu Hailong ande there are other sanda fighters who koed muay thais don't deny it.

  • @SunWukong4 what about 2002 in bangkok when all the thai ko the sanda fighter? that event was 100% muaythai not limited by the stupid sanda rules. the thai could elbow as long as they like knee and clinch as long as they like and what happen? ko! thats y sanda limit the rules for thai now since then.

  • @Taywarit13 that doesn't change the fact sanda fighters Ko'ed Muay Thais a knockout is a knockout you think muay thais need to use clinch to win or did you not know that thais can use their elbows and knees in unified rules. Don't give me that "they were padded" that's a whiney excuse because all it does is reduce cuts and bruises not the power. look up Art of War fighting Champions

  • @Taywarit13, check out Zhang Kaiyin v. Lamsongkram Chuwattana. Another KO match. My point is: have an open mind. Stop your excuses. It does not help our MT arts.

  • @LP18888 wow hes 19 really ? where did u get the source?

  • @MechPhantom

I remember seeing his profile on one of his Sanshou matches recently.

  • @LP18888 hmm ok lol ,but he looks like 20+ or id 20s . But if its true that hes 19 ok lol. He also fights like 20+ or so,and hes quite good

  • @MechPhantom well he is obviously 20 now because that comment was one year ago

  • @wiredtoawall 20? i think hes like 28 or something lol kinda old really. But hes goood

  • handsome asian kid

  • Shoulei is a great fighter.

  • wei is a great fighter

  • Good fight, thanks for the post!

  • Awesome! I've been waiting for someone to post this match since December!!! Thank you!!!

  • I'd love to see the Shishido-Shoulei fight...None of the shows from this year have aired on tv for some reason. I'm hoping they'll end up on DVD at some point. I guess the Kanai-Umeno Super Welterweight title fight from monday was awesome. If anyone knows anything about Shootboxing's TV deal or if they've announced some DVD releases please let us know.

  • that throw at 3:49 is very smart

  • People have been bugging me for more Shoulei fights. Glad someone could find them.

Any chance of seeing his bout with Shishido?

  • Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a big shootboxing fan as well.
