what a surprise to know that the b side of "what's love got to do with it?" rock n roll widow tina was performing 2 years before it was released. i remember this on the 45 in 1984. i always loved steel claw. i prefer the harder rock n roll version on private dancer but let's face it any recording or performance by miss tina is always delightful.

No words could ever describe this! No words to thank you properly for posting it, justatinafan! I never thought I´d actually get to SEE this and in such a quality. This was Tina at the prime of her voice and performing skills and still free from the market´s designs to sing what she really wanted or best suited her. So she used to sing Legs(ZZ top)and many others. Rock´n Roll Widow seems to be tailor-made for her. I´ll enjoy it once more.....,and again...the greatest thanks

How surreal she's singing a song off her biggest album over a year before its released, when her career was at its lowest. I guess if your lowest is with Johnny Carson, she was never down and completely out!

I wonder if these songs were gong to be included in a unfinished project or just random songs at the time. Very interesting to hear the stuff she was doing then

@BensonNE Your Welcome :), I think the songs she covered during the pre-private dancer era were just songs she liked, not an unfinished project. She was glad to choose what songs she could sing and make her own adjustments now that she was separated from Ike. She probably put these songs on the private dancer album because the album was put together in less than a month and she wanted to use some of her previous work on the album.

i really loved this era up to private Dancer,even up to Break every rule cos you could see,hear on her voice how much she wanted to make it and after ward how happy she was after making it big,her smile during PD Tour said it all,i really want to hear her talk about it in deep and not briefly during interviews

When Ike lost her, he lost it all. She was still smokin' hot well into her 60's, There's no one around today like her, there will never be another Tina. Thanks for posting...

This must have been interesting to see on tv at the time. This was a couple of years before her solo commercial success, yet ppl still remember her from the Ike & Tina days. Also, not a lot of 43 yo looked that good back in 1982 - more like have that youthful appeal. Thanks for posting.

@jojobug45 , I DO actually remember seeing this on TV and thinking, My god, why hasn't someone signed her and made her famous! Anyone that energetic and she's NOT famous? Unbelievable. Thank goodness, she did go on to become rich and famous. Yeah, she will always be remembered from the Ike & Tina Turner days, as some posters here have said. Older people tend to like that kind of music better. I'm just glad she left Ike, period.
