@TMOvids Of all the fact checking I did the Siberia USA bit was the hardest to find real information on. I was thrilled when I came across that lecture. The Wikipedia entry, at that time, was a nightmare.
See the following video to understand why.

The article in its current state (just checked) better now. I also take great pride that this video shows up on the first search page on both Google and Yahoo.. even if the hit counts is only 1400.
Interesting... thanks. I would imagine that you're familiar with Dr. Julian Lewis V. Dr. Winfred Olverhoser? They tried to pull the same crap then on a black male scientist (with a name spelling of Julian that's more frequently associated with women) that they've now been trying to pull on a white female scientist (with a name spelling of Julien that's more frequently associated with men). I would imagine that most if not all of that land was Indigenous... yes? The racism was blatant and they...
didn't get away with it with Lewis. The sexism has been blatant and they also aren't going to get away with it with Arbor! I "washed" my brain sitting my ass on a meditation cushion for over 10 years. Now I understand the concern regarding me much better. France is looking pretty damn good to me these days... thanks!
If you can't find affordable housing or a liveable wage, it means you are "mentally ill" because you "can't take care of yourself", whether or not you REALLY HAVE BEEN taking care of yourself despite the limitations. Furthermore, they don't need to send people out to a "siberian" involuntary commitment/ they are more than getting away with rounding up and committing millions right under everybody's noses because no one is acknowledging what is really happening. Be careful of sweeping judgements
Great video! Every cazy group I've ever talked to weaves this tired old conspiracy theory about "siberia USA" into their bullshit fantasies. Thank you for finnally putting this one to bed!
I want you to bust apart Robert Whitakers and Elliot Valensteins works.
Do that. Don't cherry pick the bullshit you use to make your "for lulz" argument, take this fucking seriously because this isn't a fucking game and you're *NOT* anonymous !
What 13Heathens and the obviously biased speaker failed to mention is that the objectionable parts that permitted wholesale involuntary commitment WERE STRIPPED FROM THE BILL in the version that passed. So this was a victory for opponents of the bill. In other words Scientology et al won this one. The author of this video apparently did not think that important enough to mention. Wonder why? Wikipedia has a decent article on "Siberia USA".
Alaskans with mental illnesses were being shipped out of their own area.
Alaska wanted their own organizations. So they got some land they could use for collateral/use as income producing, to set up those programs so THEIR OWN mentally disabled Alaskan CITIZENS would not be shipped out and maintain ties to their own families and vice versa.
Look, if an appointed psychiastrist by the court has that much power to say you can't take care of yourself, you will be committed against your will. This is without a second opinion by a licensed doctor of your own choice. Love the vid, to prove CCHR bull shit, though.
i love it how they overlooked the fact the people who are committed are dangerously insane and that the trail they bring up was more about wider medical insurance fraud than just involuntary commitment.
I definitely wish he would have pressed him on that as well as the accusation that the FDA, the APA and the AMA had infilitrated Scientology and murdered the head of the Seattle org or something of that nature... my jaw dropped.
Do I really believe that our government was going to commit people with just a nod from psychiatrists? The government does a lot of crazy stuff... not that though. I remember hearing David Miscavige repeat this way back in the day with Ted Koppel on Nightline.
Heard this claim about Siberia USA before and suspected something fishy, but never realised it was quite this skewed a claim.

Okay lemme see if I got the gist of this.
From this, the conspiracy nuts went whonzo.
