1. Sonic Syndicate sucks balls. They are a Emo Pop Boyband and dont deserve the designation "Metal" or "Melodic Death Metal". They are just popular because they have emo haircuts and a girl in the band (who just can play 2 notes on the bass). Listen to the new album and especially the shiity song "Turn It Up". Bloody great list. Loved the Eternal Tears of Sorrow and Amorphis add. And Before the Dawn - Totally agree!. They have always been a very under rated bands imo.

Amorphis was the best band in that list, purely because they have not focused on the screaming, it gives futher depth to thier songs and lets you concentrate on the melodic part of melodeath - even if it does make them sellouts. In Flames are my personal favourite. But 9/10 on those songs i have on my iPhone anyways :P

Pretty good list. The only personal changes would be that a few of those bands I've never listened to (Which will now change lol) and I probably wouldn't have Children of Bodom or sonic syndicate. You should check out Skyfire and Wintersun. Also, Scar Symmetry was my first melodeath band =) (And a heavy influence on my band)

I will agree that COB is definitely Melodic Death Metal and they are one of my favorites.

I lived i Orlando and kind of grew up with the Death Metal genre and especially the band Death from when they formed. They might not be considered Melodic Death Metal now, but they sure were in the mid -90's.

However though ,your list sucks (in my opinion). ..and mr cocky: I'm 19 years old so fuck you...maybe you should think outside the box....but then again it might be hard for someone that young.
