i have just CHANGED THE Touch screen and LCD screen of my HTC Desire phone but every time i dial a number or pick a call the screen goes black and it has nothing to do with the button on top. What do you think i missed in the internal components?

@Africanbeautytotheco Has nothing to do with the button on top - referring to the proximity sensor? Normally that is the main cause of black screen like this. I can't think of a connection issue that may cause this other than the flex cable that holds the proximity sensor.

I just need to remove the front cover because it cracked and I'm ordering a new one. Will it just pop off so I can snap the new one on? Or will anything be attached to it?

@YaBoiSwagg200 I am pretty sure you will need to follow through this video to get to the point where you can remove the front cover. I believe there are some things connected to the housing that will need to be transferred to the new housing as well.

@rarahpb Sounds like your LCD screen is either damaged or not connected correctly.

I just successfully replaced my shattered HTC Touch screen with parts from RepairsUniverse, and I offer many thanks for the tutorial. I'd like to add that you must pry off the metal bracket from the old LCD screen to use on the new one (just glued on). My screen was black when first turned on, but just be patient. I applied a little pressure to the back, and the screen became dim, then when full brightness. My phone actually works better now, and the screen is brighter.

and got it for $5.49 - including shipping ! it took 2 weeks but I save a lot of money doing the repair my self. and I found that getting the correct part harder that actually taking the phone apart. shop around but download the manual first. this will help you with exact part numbers as well as seeing exactly what is what in the phone.

The LCD screens and digitizers are separate on this model but for your issue you just need a new LCD screen.

I took apart 2 of these, and when swithcing the screens, they broke when plugging in. (nothing broke or seemed wrong) The screens just no longer worked. So what is the best way to remove that chord and plug in that chord. It has that gold covering on it, and that rubber like band...
