@LazyOBrock really different styles but I would say Ryan is better. Mudvayne relied on Ryan more since they're only a 4 piece band and Korn is based more on simple heavy riffs with a lot of different effects and Fieldy's slapping style is unique to their sound. Ryan and Fieldy are both masters of what they do though, I love both bands.

Mudvayne and Slipknot are both great bands. Mudvayne is the more technical and emotion band, and Slipknot is more catchy and is amazing live. (Not that Mudvayne isn't amazing live) I'm talking about both band's old stuff of course.
Give it up for puddy sake. Slipknot is a good band. So is Mudvayne. Who is better, is up to the person judging the two. There can be no winner because of the diversity of the people voting. I personally didn't (and still don't) like where Mudvayne went after their first few albums, but they were definately better for a few years...early on. Just my opinion..... -Peace-

Slipknot actually started off really strong, and continued late into their career incorporating some elements of the modern metal scene along the way.

I really miss their raw heavy sound, that's why song for song LD50 is pure gold and one of the best metal albums ever. you can't compare slipknot and mudvayne or any other bands because it's a matter of personal taste. saying that some band is better than some other band doesn't make it so - it's only your personal opinion. there is enough bands out there to please everyone's taste. it's stupid to argue about that.

I also listen to slipknot and many other metal bands, the only reason why sometimes I think that I'm special, is when I'm surounded with my friends who are obsessed with hip hop and other crap. I also have a lot of friends who listen to metal but in their opinion slipknot sucks, but they aren't judging me the way you're judging the whole fan base of slipknot.
