i heard the vg30 is a pain to work on. and you have to pull it out to work on minor things. is this true?

No, the VG30e is extremely easy to work on. The VG30DE is the one thats hard to work on while its in the vehicle.

So this is basically like a stock turbo? How are these cars to drive.

Well yes, stock turbo from the stock turbo setup. But, I am running the n/a motor (higher compression ratio), its running 15psi compared to the stock 6.7psi, and plus its intercooled. So its not a stock setup, compared to a stock turbo z31, mine pulls so much harder.
