You know..... this entire time, I didn't even notice. I mean, I've played Gradius before... and I know what the Vic Viper is; But I never bothered to read the title of his ship up there. I just sort of assumed that it was a parody of danmakus, with the options and all. Shit, even the theme song escaped me. (This was before I had gotten familiar with the series, and before I had gotten rather familiar with Konami).
I appreciate how the player in this video makes sure to put up a nice show for the viewer. Too many videos of expert players curbstomping bosses, which does away with any of the tension or cinematic value you get as a player experiencing this for the first time.
(The first time I played ZoE, my friends were more than content with just _watching_ me play.)

i can see that they've only specially added a Remix of Bigcore Mark-1 OST A.K.A Aircraft Carrier the first stage boss music on all Gradius series .. Good choose for it ^^
i wonder what about the rest of hyper space fighters like Lord.B - Jade Knight - Falchion Beta & Metalion on the rest of the series :)
Yeah, if you have ever played Gradius I, II, or III you'd get a pretty good idea of how potentially powerful the Vic Viper really is. With lasers and option orbs mimicking every one of your movements, a skilled pilot can beat the entire game within one sitting.
Its amazing that the Vic Viper is the only L.E.V. that can compete with an orbital frame. I think the Vic Viper my actually be stronger than Jehuty. O_o
I dunno...Leo is unnaturally gifted for some reason. I mean seriously, he's a kid that thwarted Nohman's plans of getting Jehuty--he's a pretty damn good pilot. That whole thing was his first time in combat, so that's something to think about.
As is, Dingo would probably win. But give Leo some time and he'll surpass Dingo pretty quickly.
When I was reading and looking at the preview magazine gamepro about this game. I thought that the 2nd game you were in a different but similar to the A.I. machine. And than I played it it was the same A.I. oh well
