Alot of emos would kill themselves. Its just the everyday person doesnt see wats really going on in there head and just think get over yourselves. Most are actually depressed and on meds and everything so u shouldnt judge them on wat they look like.
Oh come on. People that're actually depressed are the minority in groups like emos, and due to human stupidity, there's no way in hell they're going to appreciate that, and instead just generalize them all into one.
If I were emo and depressed, the reason I was depressed would be that I joined a dumbass abomination of human stupidity to express it.
but the truth is, emo is a stereotype. and it's what people make it. just because they dress a different way, and some are depressed it doesn't make them human. it's like... the materials they wear. clothes and makeup shouldn't define people.
As someone who's suffering from depression and is ON meds for it, you don't generally go hang out with people when you're feeling like that, even people who are as depressing as you. >(
Alternatively, and as a teenager myself, I listen to this song and think "damn, he got that right!"
I'm not a stereotypical teenager, and listening to this song is hysterical because I'm in the best position to sit back and observe just how scarily accurate it is. I've had the same experiences; waiting in line, at the bus stop...come on Muglez, surely you've had the same thing?
hahaha "emo's are just like goths, but you can't tell them that because they'll cry..." Brilliant!
Well, yeah. Except... You're not as bitter, cynical and pessimistic as me. You're right, though, he got it spot on. And that's what really gets me. Outside of my budding misanthropy, this is hilarious.
This song is proof positive that Fallout Boy is Emo music because the only band I can think of the an Emo kid might listen to with a singer/writer named Patrick is them. Gawd I dislike Fallout Boy!
Fallout Boy is to music what you are to teenagers. That annoying child people avoid associating with out of fear of catching The Stupid. It'd make sense that you'd love them unconditionally, despite their horrible ability and overall destruction of the name "music." I think I'll go pencil them in under Soulja Boy in the catagory "Noise."
In that case, thanks for being an inefficient salesperson and giving us all such a brilliant song. I've been sorely tempted to sing the chorus a number of times.
Thanks, Muglez - your comment brightened my day as well, especially when I inadvertently clicked on the link at work and had to play the whole thing again.
This is a good system we have going. We just reply to make the other listen to it, then thank the person that made the other open it, because stupid teenagers are funny. Thanks again! :P
Muglez, you are a mindreader. How did you know that's just what I needed first thing on a dull Monday morning? (Actually, weirdly enough, at the time you sent this, I was back in the same concert hall I saw Tim Minchin in in Feb. Wish we could get Mr McD there.) How've you been?
All the better for this, thanks. It's getting freaky though - I just watched that video the other night too. Should I be getting paranoid? Or should you?
Got a new one for you, though - have you seen "Wrong Number" with GUD? You haven't commented it, so I couldn't make you listen, but you might like it.
Being a teenager makes me sad, because I do end up getting lumped in with the basis of this song far more often than I'd like. Stereotypes piss me off above all else. I get the feeling I'm going to be alot like Paul in that I'm going to be one of those angry, ANGRY little men. :P
Sorry you're feeling like that, but a) as a teenager you're in one of the most exciting (and depressing and excruciatingly embarrassing and potentially wonderful) times of your life and b) you're going to end up like Paul? Sorry, as a middle-aged mum (of a teenager - imagine what stereotypes I get lumbered with), I'm finding it hard to be awfully sympathetic. But not too hard. ;)Now's the time to make memories for your old age.
yeah its kinda like that for me as well, but its great to be able to surprise people when they realise you're capable of sustaining an intelligent conversation. the whole stereotyped teenage thing doesnt really piss me off that much because i know im not really like that.
It drives me insane because I know someone somewhere is ruining it for the rest of us, causing people to have these moronic ideas based entirely around a singular experience about the behaviour of all teenagers, and instead of treating people on a case-to-case basis, thinking as if we're a single entity with the same ideas, intelligence and all that jazz.
That was the most recognisably Paul McD I've seen on YouTube other than the DAAS stuff. I guess now the show's being cancelled, the brakes are coming off.
