Republican puppets and their insurance company puppet masters want to shift the blame from the major cost to companies, which is medical insurance premiums and continue the insurance takeover of the US health care system. Business is thriving in Canada because of our single payer health care system. As well, we Canadians have better health care than most Americans have.

American jobs are being out-sourced to Canada because the US pays twice as much per capita as Canada while the US has half the access, quality, and outcomes of Canada's.

Love it when this guy gets up and pontificates! You know, as a constituent of Mr. Burgess's horribly gerrymandered home district, I have to say that if he had over the past decade lifted even one pinkey finger to actually REPRESENT the voters in his district he might have accrued a little bit of credibility--instead he has consistently snubbed good sense and supported the interests of those who brought on the (second) bankruptcy of Western capitalism. I llive in North Texas and lost my job a year ago at Texas Instruments to a H1-B visa applicant. Why is the government still letting companies import workers when 15 million americans are unemployed? Are you afraid to stand up to big companies?

Republicans are puppets to big companies of all kinds, recently, medical insurance companies in particular. Thousands of US jobs a month are outsourced to Canada for mainly two reasons: 1) Canada actually has privacy laws, so most American medical  records are kept Canada. 2) Canada has government funded single payer health care system, so there is no profit involved.

Medical decisions in Canada are solely between patients and physicians with absolutely no government or other interference, as opposed to the insurance company bureaucrat which Amercans have between patient and physician in the US insurance-run health care system. The insurance takeover of the US health care system is bankrupting the nation. Having lived in the US for 7 years and used both Canadian and US systems, there is no doubt that Canada has far better health care than the US.

Small business is thriving in Canada and unemployment in Canada is 8.5% compared to 10% in the US. The reason? Canada has a government funded single payer health care system (superior in access and quality to what most Americans have) which means that business is not saddled with health costs, as they are in the US. Millions of Americans come to Canada for treatment they can't afford in the US, compared to the handful of Canadians who go to the US as a status symbol, not by necessity.

In 2007 Canada's unemployment rate was 6.4% & the US was 4.8%. In 2008 The Canadian unemployment rate was higher than the US. The Canadian health care system is not superior to the US health care system and health care is not the reason for the rise in the US unemployment rate. Cap & Trade, Climate control, higher taxes, government spending and a government push toward socialism is increasing our unemployment in the US. Obviously you are not in business for yourself nor manage a business.

In October, Cnada's unemployment rate was 8.5% and in October the US unemployment rate wass 10%. Canadian health care is definitely superior to insurance-run health care. US insurance-run health care kills 45,000 Americans and 2600 American veterans each year. Those 47,600 Americans would be alive if they were Canadians with universal health care. US business is crippled by health by insurance companies paying only 59 cents for health care of every every dollar they take in, not by government.

The rise in unemployment does not have anything to do with health care. And the US insurance-run health care does not kill 45,000 Americans every year... what a ridiculas statement. Who in the government knows how to run health care? Who is qualified. No one! Gov reimbursement is always less than cost to the hospitals. Five MA hospitals are suing the state for insufficient reimbursement now. The gov take over is about power and control, not compassion. No one will be better off.

A Harvard University study shows that 45,000 Americans a year die from lack of access to health care. That IS ridiculous for a so called "advanced" nation not to have universal health care and to have such a death toll. In Canada, as well as with health reform in the US, government pays but physicians arre in charge of the health care system, as opposed to the current US system, where insurance company bureaucrats stand between patients and physicians, rationing health care for profit.,

Excess health costs in the US due to the insurance companies that run the health care system paying out only 59 cents of every dollar taken in from premiums. This profit based system is bankrupting everyone who uses the current insurance-run health care system in the US. The insurance company bureaucrat between patients & physicians & who makes the medical decisions for the patient always dictates to the physician the cheapest treatment, not the best treatment. Insurance-run health care kills.

The government run programs (Medicare & Medicaid) pay even less. Government bureaucrats in the M&M programs dictate even cheaper treatment and definitely do not provide the best. The Government is like the pot calling the kettle black. They are far worse than insurance companies & there are no appeal processes available. In the current system there are many ways to find the care necessary. If Gov takes over, there will be no appeals, no hope & it will cost much more. We don't want it.

Government run programs pay over 90 cents for each dollar. Canadians would never accept the third party interference of insurance-run health care. 92% of Canadian favour the single payer system we have and would never accept the interference of insurance-run health care. Americans would be far better off to adopt a similar system.

It will only be when you actually have a real and decent medical system that you will realize that those now with insurance-run & rationed health care have near third world health care. I've experienced both US & Canadian health care and Canadian health care is far superior for 100% of Canadians. We pity Americans who have insurance company bureaucrats making their medical decisions.

Anyway, Canadians will continue to welcome the many companies that choose Canada over the US because of astronomical US health care costs caused by corrupt insurance companies in the US. We'll arrange for them to sell thier products to you at a big profit since they choose Canada over the US because we have single payer health care, and so, we don't force exorbitant health costs on companies as the US does. That is why they choose Canada.

Having lived in both Canada and the US and used both systems, there is no doubt at all that the health care I have in Canada is far superior in both access and quality to the insurance-run health care I had for seven years in the US.
