When you first enter this chamber you think, aaah piece of the cake..
Amazing how such an simple looking test can be so insanely difficult.
I must agree with mario318 to by the way. Managed to do Up and Down and Enough is Enough by my self to far. I hope my frontal lobe wont explode figuring the last 3 maps :)
I really should get people to playtest my maps before release. It's been a glaring neon sign in my face for the last couple releases, yet I keep managing to ignore it.
If the last map bugs out for you, restart and try enabling cheats. I've had reports of it not working after a certain point (sometimes enabling cheats helps). Oh, and look out the first window very carefully.
I was stuck at this one for the longest time till I watched this video. I love these puzzles but sometimes I wish they didn't depend so much on tiny little factors like sticking to the edge of the door. I end up looking for more standard solutions like in the game. Guess I'm not thinking outside the companion cube? Eh? Get it? Box?
@mario0318 It isn't the easiest. I was seeing if you could hang onto the door and when I found it was possible, used it. I prefer to not do a lot of standard stuff. It doesn't always work out, but I try. :)
I parented a prop_testchamber_door to a momentary_rot_button and parented that to a func_movelinear. The twisted hallway was built with twister and the room was rotated on its side.
I don't know if I should make a tutorial...well...I guess seeing how to use twister would be handy, but it is pretty straightforward. Start it, choose a shape, choose a width/length/height, save to vmf, and open in hammer.
