I know it's just a gimmick to sell "Beamer HID" kits but, nonetheless it's still impressive. I've seen waterproof ballasts (by now, who hasn't?) but never a waterproof bulb. And not having the bulb shatter/explode is impressive, too.
what concerns me is that the water must be emitting the current right? because the xenon bulb has kind of naked terminals am i right? so there must be some kind of short circuit in the water?
No the bulb is completely sealed that is why it will not blow and also it is under water when I turn it on so it is the same temp. If the Bulb was on that placed into the water than the bulb will fracture because of the heat from the bulb.
The ballast puts out 35 Watts, but that is not what will kill you.
It is the Amperage that will kill you or give you a pretty good numbing shock, 65 mA will kill a human, which means as little as 30 volts can supply a deadly current and the ballast produces 23000V. It's like a Flourecent light set up
