Assuming you are in good faith: Read Finkelstein's demolition of that book and its author in Beyond Chutzpah. By any standard Dershowitz is a fraud. if you still think the Case for Israel is fine after reading finkelstein then avoid taking about truth, philosophy etc and admit reality doesn't matter to you.
Judging from Finkelstein's lectures on his website, he appears to me as a radical humanist. Someone who wants justice above all. Do you feel this way about Alan Dershowitz? A fraud by any standard. Read Finkelstein's Beyond Chutzpah,and Dershowitz's Case for Israel. One is praised by the experts in the field, has the record to back him up, the other a vulgar apologist for torture and a fraud, yet a best seller touted by the media. The truth is unambigious in this case. But let Dershowitz publish and be embarrassed, not censored.

Assuming you are in good faith: Read Finkelstein's demolition of that book and its author in Beyond Chutzpah. By any standard Dershowitz is a fraud. if you still think the Case for Israel is fine after reading finkelstein then avoid taking about truth, philosophy etc and admit reality doesn't matter to you.

Judging from Finkelstein's lectures on his website, he appears to me as a radical humanist. Someone who wants justice above all. Not peace (which means: end of violence, tranquility, normalization...) but justice! And at all costs! He would support Hezbollah and Hamas resistance in the name of justice. No matter how much violence and deaths, justice must triumph. But this is not what the ordinary Palestinian or Israeli housewife wants. Finkelstein is as much a radical as the violent settlers.

Dershowitz book "The Case for Israel" is NOT a rehash of Joan Peters. Peters is based on a theory that says that most Palestinians, are people who immigrated to the region in the decades immediately before 1948.
Dershowitz book, written in the form of questions and answers, is an attempt to explain Israel's policies, for which it is being so heavily criticised, by reminding some forgotten truths.
BTW, Dershowitz is a prominent Harvard professor in Law, not an expert in litterature or SF.

Good question. It is always good to question and investigate. Well, the atrocities are typically Israel's violation of universal human rights in general. There are many specific examples. One that I can think of right now is Israel's violation of the first cluster of UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, namely articles 3 to 21.
