I notice at her concerts, when she sings her really high notes, the backup singers are not singing with her. Now I realize why, it's planned that way, they know when she goes up that high on vocals, don't want to hurt their vocal cords trying to reach that high. She is only singer that reach those high vocals without a problem everytime, which is outstanding job. I don't think many artists can do that.

This is a really hard song to sing - I don't know how she does a whole set of such hard songs

I agree. The songs on this album are SO difficult, and she sings through them like they are nothing, hitting notes that are incredibly difficult. I love to see how much she's blossomed and become the amazing talent we all knew she would be!

this must be the first time you heard her sing. Because she been doing this way, all the time. I give her credit, she got vocals to do, doesn't take the easy way of letting up on any song. Check out American Idols, when she sang Alone and Angels Brought Me Here and you see what I know. She can do high vocals with no problem.

No, it's not the first time I've heard her. I am a HUGE fan of hers, and always wanted her to win since the first day I heard her. But as A LOT of people have pointed out, including herself in many interviews, this album showcases her major growth as an artist. Yes, she's ALWAYS been amazing, and her vocals have always been there...but they have gotten even better as time has gone on.

@fiddleDdee , I know you made this comment two years ago, I suppose by now you figured this is normal for Carrie to sing this way. She is the one singer I know of that can sing this many hard songs and doesn't have problem with it.

Oh and i love towards the end, the backup singers looking at her in insane jealousy. lol. i would too!

the reason, her backup singers are looking at her that way, they know they can't follow up that high on the vocals. Backups are supposed be able go that high, but this is exception to that, that's why they aren't backing her up. They probably hurt their vocals if they tried.
