  • Does every Shoe-maker have racing in their blood?

  • @Marcus666Sund preeeetty much ahahahhaha

  • thats cool

  • This engine makes more power at idle than a Lamborghini bahahaha you just cannot comprehend the numbers, 327mph in under 4.5 seconds, think about it....properly.....I KNOW bahahahah :D I wonder how many Gs they experience, F1 don't get close to this acceleration!!!

  • @princepersia1 a very vague way to calculate G's would be due to Acceleration = Velocity / Seconds²

    A = 146 (meters per second) / 4,4 sec² multiplying by 4,4 makes A = 642m/ s²

given the fact that 1G = 9,81m/s² the linear acceleration (not quite correct) would be 65 Gs of acceleration.

  • @therealTOTOfan 65gs? Are you sure? That sounds lung-mincing...I don't think fighter jets accelerate with that much force. Maybe I'm wrong but still, these machines are EPIC. People just don't think about the numbers because if they did they would realize the extreme nature of the sport :D

  • @therealTOTOfan People can die if they are exposed to even 10Gs of acceleration, your calculations are unfortunately wrong. They experience around 4Gs during acceleration. Remember, once their bodies reach a similar momentum to the car, which is not very long after takeoff, they experience less G-force.

  • @therealTOTOfan hmmm something a bit wrong there - nobody can survive 65 G's.

  • @therealTOTOfan champ its been measured that fuel cars leave the start line with ~5g's. The guy in the rocket sled who survived 45g's had permanent vision damage from it, cant imagine people doing a lifetime of 65g passes ;)

  • @therealTOTOfan not dissing you but maby a decimal point was missing so not 65 but 6.5

  • Proof that men are superior to women.

  • the whole world knows KPH .............99.% of the worlds countrys use it

  • @sasktank Actually, since drag racing started off in America and everyone goes by most of their rules, MPH is used around the world with drag racing. I know in Europe they use KPH, but they also use MPH (I think) and here is Australia we only started to display KPH on the timing boards in the last five or so years, but MPH still comes up. IMO, I prefer MPH because I think it is easier to gauge what a fast run is because it is easier to compare with the USA instead of converting.

  • 327 MPH is roughly 526 Km/H

  • MPH to KPH, divide by 5 then times by 8

  • @102bac MPH to KPH you just times by 1.6

  • @68SSCAM cheers bro :D

  • this video gave me goosebumps! Great Job Tony Schumacher and his Pit Crew! You did a exellent job!

  • all i can say is GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • i praise the driver ! he has got balls thats for sure !

  • man i miss 1/4 mile racing

  • You're correct in a way. The reason I say 12,000 is, the TF engines peak at 12,000 bhp, but only for a split second. I actually thought it was 8000 (max) myself, until a few months ago.

  • @xespguitarsx the highest recorded bhp for a fuel dragster just over 10,000 not 12. it was measured on doug kalitta's dragster and was found to be when the clutch engages about half way down the racetrack. LitbynoonProductions youtube channel has the video where mike dunn talks about it

  • In one burnout (approximately 2-3 seconds), these monsters burn roughly 2 gallons of nitromethane. And that's only firing on 4-6 cylinders. That's insane fuel consumption. But then again, it's needed to make 12,000 horses. Great video.

  • @xespguitarsx I wouldn't say 12,000 horsepower, more like 8,000

  • @68SSCAM yea its 8 this dragster came to my school and they go through 4-5 gallons on burnout

  • @hebeya10 its actually 1.8 - 2.2 gallons

  • @68SSCAM but whos complaining??

  • @xespguitarsx lol if they only firing on 4-6 cylinders, you would break the engine instantly lol... even at idle you would blow the engine

  • given a longer straight a way with a car like this whats the top speed??

  • @matthewrockslol22 probably about 350 MPH with the right tune up, the engines wouldn't last much longer than they do in the 1/4 mile, they are right on the edge already.

  • @68SSCAM oh yeah thats right, after a pass like this on a full tank arent they pretty much empty?

  • @matthewrockslol22 You could put more fuel, but yes after the run they are basically empty and you don't want to lean out one of these engines. The motor itself wouldn't last very long on high RPM with enough fuel anyway.

  • OH MY GOD !!!!

  • Greatest run of all time. I'm pretty sure we'll never see anything like this in our lifetime.

  • he came to my school today and told all of us to look at his youtube vids :o

  • @UkiEatingMonster808 damn you go to a cool school

  • I remember that run. The only way that Schumacher could beat Kalita in the points for a championship was to set a record, so he and his crew did just that. That was an insane run not only because it was a record, but because by setting the record he won a championship. Back in the days when they raced down the whole track.

  • @BigJonBone And that was the final round at the last race of the year.

  • hydrogen peroxide rocket dragsters such as Sammy Miller and Kitty O'Neil's 3.22 ET and 412-mile-per-hour (663 km/h) quarter mile world records set in 1977 are not official because they failed to back up those runs within one percent, per NHRA and FIA rules.

  • @ajkorras and that 3.22 pass wasn't on a drag strip, it was on salt flats. The fastest pass on a drag strip was a 3.54 second pass I think, but it wouldn't have been a record anyway because the hydrogen cars were banned in the USA, thats why you see Sammy Miller at European tracks like Santa Pod a lot of the time.

  • @68SSCAM Totally agree. There was a lot of sceptasism about Vanishing point running the 3.54. Also Santa Pod Claimed they had the Worlds Fastest Jet Car at 336mph. It never ran that time because it always runs between 260-280mph.

  • @alvin5516

    You mean skepticism?

  • The sound is unusual and delightful!!! Great!

  • was that Sammy Miller from 1960s Scrambling motorbike fame?

  • ive gone to the drag strip once in my life.

It was that drag strip, on that day, for a high school auto class field trip. I was in the front row

  • no phil read. 4.563

  • Everybody doesen´t seem to know how to translate MPH to Km/H.

If you´ve got 300 MPH you mulitpli it with 1,609 och if you´ve got 300 Km/H you devide it with 1,609.

  • The record speed at a quarter mile is 337.58 MPH. It was set at Brainerd International Raceway by Tony Schumacher. It is not an official national record because it wasn't backed up within 2% of that speed.

  • The current National Record is 336.15mph, Schumacher couldn't back up the 337mph run for the record. But technically the quickest speed ever recorded on a 1/4 mile drag strip was 386.26 mph by Sammy Miller at Santa Pod in his Vanishing Point jet car. The ET for that run was 3.583 which stands as the quickest time ever recorded in a 1/4 mile drag strip as well.

  • thats the world record 540,87 km/h

  • No it's not, 327 mph is 523 kmh, 540.87kmh is 338mph anyway, that isn't the record.

  • 68SSCAM is right. The world record is actually 333.4 mph I believe

  • great vid great sound ;)

  • i bet that is one HELL of a ride!!!!!!!!!

  • That run will allways be remembered :)
