This movie is so under-rated. Aside from the fact that it did pretty good for its budget, the entire climax and final stand-off between Cap and de Santis is awesome and iconic. Ronny Cox and Scott Paulin in particular were both great. Also, the music.

Gee the makeup on the "old Bernie" is awful.

Just as bad is Ned Beatty as the goofy reporter, and the idiotic president played by Ronny Cox.

For a low budget film it was'nt so bad. WHAT I DIDNT LIKE WAS CAPTAIN AMERICA FOUGHT THE RED SKULL ONCE DURING WW2 IN 1 DAY AND LOST!!!! I also hated the fact that the red skull didnt look like the red skull anymore. The story was moved too quickly. I know its a low budget film but captain america's legend is suppose to begin during ww2 not after ww2. But I have to remember that its basically a kids comic book movie and kids are easily entertained when thier young. I loved this movie as a kid.

Who the hell is Bernice? Cap's WWII interest was Peggy Carter, and Sharon Carter was her niece, not daughter. Plus, Sharon is a capable SHIELD agent, not some bimbo.

Cap was actually calling her Bernie in this movie, like his girlfriend in the comics at the tiime. For years, Sharon Carter was officially Peggy Carter's younger sister, but Cap's current writer, Ed Brubaker, revised that to make Peggy her aunt. I completely agree with you about Sharon being a capable SHIELD agent.

I watched this movie while my Amphib carrier was cruising off the coast of Somalia in the '90s.

I think they showed it for the hot Italian babes.

So, I had to watch it again, just to be sure.
