I don't think that Jensen audition for the part of Sam or Dean. I think he got the part of Sam , because a director on SPN knew Jensen from his other work on tv shows like Dark Angel and Smallville. But they did not know who Jared was...except Kripke's wife who was a fan of the series Gilmore Girls.

Even though this screen test was on the bonus features of season two, U can tell that this was his original screen test to get the part of Sam Winchester - it's the talk between the two brothers in the Pilot of Supernatural - this wasn't for him trying to get the part of Sam for the second season. - Sorry if I mis-interpreted yur description, but I just wanna B clear. And Jared's sooooo nice! All I can say now is that I agree with ALL of these prior comments! ^_^
