The bass player plays a total of three different notes throughout the whole song. I've never even played bass guitar, but I'm pretty sure I could be the bass player for this song.
Great Upload!!!! I didn't even watch it yet, but DUDE, I can't believe this video is on youtube. I only expected to find a video of them lipsynching it.
not half bad, considering all the textural elements in the background, they sounded pretty damn good. Compared to the (C)RAP that is out there these days, at these these guys had some talent and could play instruments instead of jacking off like most of the "artists" these days.
Does anyone here recall that Wang Chung also plyed this song live on a late Friday-night TV show (that was sometimes repeated on Sunday nights) in the 1986-7 TV season? The TV show was called "THE ROCK 'N ROLL EVENING NEWS". They played this song at the begining;and "Let's Go" at the end....
I love this song but it essentially is a 1987 version of "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang remixed and changed into "Everybody have fun" by Wang Chung.
@1980Triumph eh NO not quite. the guitar and bass parts aren't even similar and this is a far more energetic song. what this song is close to is a surf song that dick dale did.
Let me clarify, I didn't mean an exact remix of Celebration. The overall design of this song both musically and lyrically is similar to Celebration. They are simple feel good songs, simple beats, keyboard and guitar driven with celebratory lyrics. Where Celebration has a part in the chorus that says "Celebrate"...its like the part here where the girl says, "Whang Chung". It's not a dive to this song just an observation. I love both songs.
@1980Triumph completely different lyrics and different pace to how it's delivered. the wang chung song could easilly be looked at from a 50s, 60s and 70s perspective as well. so many songs have been done this way. funny that you're trying to link it to something that simply isn't their. hmm i wonder your intention here.
Dude whatever, I don't know why you care so much. This song reminds me of Celebration both have celebratory lyrics both are guitar and keyboard driven and certain elements within remind of each other. I think its funny how you are going out of your way to prove me wrong and then to think I have some alternate intention. Please leave me alone, you are very creepy and annoying. Nothing positive can come of a discussion with you.
@1980Triumph you're free to compare it to whatever you want but you start to sound like a kook when you make ridiculous claims that it is similar. the musicality and tonation is completely different. essentially you're trying to say they ripped off some gay ass disco song called celebration.
nice try but you failed and most likely have failed at life as well.
Wow the small cock sucker is throwing jabs. They are similar but because the reasons why are above you limited capabilities you actually want to get into some type of verbal war with me. Listen, people like you need these little moments to feel alive because in your personal life you are a mistake and malformed lunatic. I am sure your a social misfit who still can't understand why he or she is so utterly loathed.

Oh yeah, Celebtration is a bigger hit than this song and is still played more than this song, not to mention Howard Stern went on a tirade recently about how this is the worst and cheesiest song ever. The only thing that is gay is you,
Dude, I like this song, I was making a point to the other guy who trashed Celebration.......I love this song which is why I came to watch the video in the first place.
@hossmitch Yeah, he looks and sounds a bit like mid-80's Sting... I wasn't expecting him to do the bridge section justice, but he nailed it. In fact, the whole band sounds great!!
The bass player plays a total of three different notes throughout the whole song. I've never even played bass guitar, but I'm pretty sure I could be the bass player for this song.
