Really have to recommend the book 'Trafficked' by Sophie Hayes. I read it in a few days. Would have read it faster if I weren't so busy. Really gripping, and it opens your eyes to a world that most people don't know exists.

Not so sure he sold his wife to Vlad. If you watch the other PBS Doc on here, it states Vlad was an aquaintance the husband met at their workplace. (Strange this clip says friend.) He admits Vlad tricked them into allowing Katia to take a business trip with him to obtain cheaper goods for her mother's shop. He accepted under the false pretense that Vlad was acting as a translator for his wife. Only they know the real truth I guess.
