Oh! What a great movie. I'm Sri Lankan. But I enjoyed the movie a lot. One thing need to say movie shouldn't end that way. I thought that the father also will die along with her. Everything happend just because he put his head on a big rock. Beaing poor and having communist ideas due to that everything ruined in his life. Such a good movie. Awsome!

I hope atleast now people start realising the talent and class OF Priyadarshan. Movies like KALAPANI (Dubbed into Tamil as Sirai Chalai) and Kanchivaram can only be made by him.

People criticize him for remaking films. He never REMADE any film in his career. He only adapted them..and that too; was purely due to commercial reasons and producers' compulsions from Bollywood.

If u notice, most Hollywood epics are adaptations of Novels, comics and also Iranian and Korean films. No one complains!

Who is the villan ?, those from Weaver side, Prakash is the villan... but Prakash's cousine is the villan....

Truely a fantastic movie.. I cannot think of any one else who would have done justice to this role, other than Prakash Raj. He has proven once again that he is a brilliant actor. The ease with which the flash backs and the current happenings are shown, bringing out the different shades in the charecter is extraordinary. Sreya Reddy and the lady who has played the role Thamarai, are simply superb.

Dear Priyadarshan and team, you have taken us on a journey back to time. The whole screen is full of 1948. Truly a superb movie. The light and shadows, the greenery, the costumes, background score - every thing just gives us a feeling like we have flown back in time. And a gripping story line very effectively visualised in the very manner it would have taken place half a century back. It has been a long time since I have seen a movie in which all Characters have their souls with them.

It should also serve as a reminder to the comrades of south india that communism stands for common man and it is beautiful only if it stands for the common man. It becomes ugly otherwise with corrupt Ministers and money making buisness men under its umberlla. Are our Communist leaders really a comunist.
