  • I was born in 1998. :l awk.

  • Aww, she named her puppy Annie, that's my name. I was probably only a year or two older then the dog at the time.

  • O.k I know your older now, but you young Nerdfighters make me feel so old. I've been a nerd since I was a kid in the 80's, and you are only what 20 now. My goodness I just turned 31 on Sunday September 25. My little brother is also 20 now and I remember when I introduced him to the Sega Saturn, and he was playing SNES when he was 6. Dang it's good to know Nerdfighteria has been around for a very long time. DFTBA young-ins DFTBA lmbo!! Of course we were just nerds back then but oh well.

  • Woahh...My name is Emily and I have a sister Sarah.

  • My name is Emily, I'm a nerd, and I turned 5 in December 1998. It was meant to be.

  • I used to write stories like this too!

    It's hilarious to find them.

  • your three-year-old nerdfighter sign totally made my day.

  • i love the picture of emily. hahaha.

  • i was 5 then

wow you were a smart 8 year old

  • I had a deja-vu at exactly 4:33 ! OMG i hate when it happens. it's so creepy, 'cause i knew what was written before i even read it. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • hahahaah

when did you notice that it was Nerdfighter?

    Awesome is genetic.

  • The fastest way to kill a story is to bring a baby into it....look what it did to Breaking Dawn.

  • Ahaha. That killed me.

  • Awesome story. Great job.

  • That story was awesome.

Also, you need a "live long and prosper" plaque to go with your hand print.

  • you've stayed in the same school for 10 years? woah. . weird

  • fattest puppy ever!

i love this. i wish i had such a great story, but i just have one from first grade that was about Lucy the Bug, and i dont know if it's been thrown out, since i havent seen it since i wrote it.

  • haha i love watching this video! your story is so cute and your handprint is made of awesome!

  • I love how you say Liane. :)

  • hahaha the nerdfighter symbol <3

  • so good ahahhah

  • That was freakin BAMF.

  • Omg, that story is freaking hilarious xD

    Love it.

  • EMiLY AND SARAH!!!! XDDDD

  • "Sarah looked like she really knew what was going on." I don't know why, but I laughed so hard at that!

  • story passed. I loved it. The End.

  • That story was great! Definitely made of awesome! And that is amazing about your handprint!

P.S. Your hair looks really fantastic. Trivial and shallow? perhaps

  • omg that was totally MADE of awesome :D

  • Widescreen most certainly does not make you look fat Hayley.

  • haha this is excellent. my cousin and her boyfriend came to stay with us for a few days over the summer, and we found one of my school journals from when i was in elementary school. we found some good passages in there and were crying we were laughing so hard. =)

  • THIS STORY IS FORESHADOWING SCONES.

    I love you.

  • Aww, that was such a cute story! :D:D

  • lol ur handwriting looks just like my friends

the story was surprisingly good 4 an eight year old!

  • ahahaaa!!! overweight mom

  • Man, that story was so riveting.

  • rofl @ ur story

  • A day passed

    and then i stopped laughing

p.s.- my name is emily =P

  • I love how she was overweight and suddenly had a baby, oh being eight years old.

  • I'm jealous. My first book was about beanie babies...

  • lol liked the story but how come they had a yard when they didn't have a house

  • but they did have a house!

they built it from a wood in their yard,

I'm assuming that, they found a plot of land and called it their yard and THEN built the house...

    lol

    great story hayley!

  • good job with the story and the nerdfighter hand print!!! :) 5AG should make a "Project for Awesome" video!!! :)

    PS- You don't look fat.

  • awh. the story was adorable!

[oh, and widescreen definutally does not make you fat!]

  • YAY...NERDFIGHTER...YAY....HANDPRINT...

    YAY...story....STORY!!!!

  • the hunger pains part sounded a lot like something stephanie meyer would write.

  • 1. That was worth waiting for all year!

    2. You've attended the same school for (at least) 10 years? Interesting.

    3. I'm glad that the parents were just as surprised as Sarah about the new baby. It kind of makes you wonder how exactly they didn't notice what they were doing.

  • it's also the vulcan...

  • hhahaha hayley that story was fantastic! lmao woop woop

  • Oh my freaking gosh, I'm crying right now. That was so freaking funny! Oh gosh, so freaking awesome. :D

  • That handprint: nerdfighter for life =] Such a cute story

  • OK Joe OK Emily =]

  • Loving the story :D and that hand print thing is odd, how very wizard.

  • baby nerdfighters are made of even more awesome than usual!!

  • That story pretty much completed my life.

What do you mean the names are scones...?

  • Hayley, you are just full of awesome!

    ;]

  • Haha, I loved the story.

It's even more funny that you blocked out the schools name.

Considering we go to the same one.

    =]

  • You have always been a writer, Hayley :)

    And, clearly, a nerdfighter.

  • Haha your story was cute :p

  • its weird to see your name without the "g"

  • I thought the exact same. And I'm really impressed with your eight year old story writing skills. I still had trouble colouring in the lines at that stage.... fail

  • awesome :)

  • hahah that story was beyond amazing.

and the nerdfighter hand!!! omg,im so jealous. i wish my hand print looked like that, lol.

    lalal

  • Best. Story. Ever.

  • HAHAH best story ever! That was awesome.

That totally reminds me of when I was that age and my dad tried telling me what sexual intercourse was. He knew I'd get the basic concept, but not fully understand it so he simply told me that "mommy and daddies do it because it makes them happy and it also brings babies into the world".

  • That was brilliant! haha I don't think any 8 year old could write that well.

    you NFTBA girl :P

  • I heart your puppy-rat and its accompanying story. The mind of a child is so simple and truthful. Your about the author is almost the same as I used to write down at about that age.

    What a nerdfight-astic handprint! Wowza.

  • hanger pains for 4 out of the 5 awesome girls?!?!

    THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS NOW!!

and it is made from win!

  • your story really spoke to me, hayley. i was once a little girl named emily whose family built a house out of wood from their backyard.

    *sniff*

baby hayley nerdfighter hand is also touching.

  • I love how your 8 year old mind managed to calculate that pregnancy takes 9 months, but you don't show for 3 months, thus the mother would look overweight for 6 months... seriously, i couldn't have done that!

  • LOL. You're a great narrator Hayley.

OMG! Your hand print is awesome!

  • all around awesome dftba :)

  • Hahaha, I LOL'd at the handprint. You were a REALLY good writer when you were younger! Wow!

  • that was awesome! I especially love that your first story was about christmas :D

  • What have you got against nerds? They just want your love!

  • Although understandably confusing, "Nerdfighter" doesn't actually mean someone who fights nerds.

In fact, it usually refers to nerds themselves! :oP Check out vlogbrothers here on YouTube - the people that watch their videos etc. are called "Nerdfighters". :o)

  • I abosolutely love the nerdfighter hand print too....!! haha, what is the likelihood of that!? :oO

  • amazing!!! hehe...

I have a whole 'story file' of stories I started to write when I was younger - it's hilarious to read through them now! I would love to have seen your reaction when you found that book again...

  • HAHAHA!

a little overweight for six months, then they realize she was prego and it popped out?

  • I'm jealous of your eight-year-old writing skills lol ; P

  • Lmfaooo too funny :P

  • HAHA! A little overweight for 6 months! XD

  • Haahahahahaaaa I laughed for so long at the hand print.

  • the sentence structure isn't that bad for eight, just sayin'

    the hand print = classic

ps as soon as finals are over we're having a real convo; darn finals

  • I totally have one of my cihldhood stories I was going to put on here!

    I still should. :)

  • Wow, cihldhood? really?

  • Hahaha! Aw, that completely made my week!!

And my roommate and I laughed about your Nerdfighter hand print for way too long. Amazing!

  • That's actually a really impressive story for 8 years old! My favourite parts were "making baby food for when Sarah is older", and the record player/record as Christmas presents. Amazing! I still have a story I wrote when I was 8 ... it was about a cat who kept getting fatter and everyone was worried, and then the cat had kittens. Not nearly as well written as yours was! Happy holidays...

  • Widescreen does not make you look fat at all. All widescreen does is allow more space to fully appreciate how pretty you are and how gorgeous your smile :) x

  • Adorable!

  • the people in your story are very woodsy

  • Yay! Correct use of the word Pangs FTW!

  • You had really good grammar at age eight!

  • Who needs Stephen Fry reading HP, it should be Hayley G Hoover!

  • A day passed. :)

Hayley - that video just made my week.

  • 1998?

You had to have been about 7 or 8 years old, but your grammar was superb!

I guess you've been the Grammar Fairy and a nerdfighter since birth, Haley.

  • What the guy said at the bottom!

    Mahalo,Kullen

  • I actually had to pause the video coz i could not stop laughing at the puppy drawing.

  • you are made of awesome!

  • that was the best video ever.

and i love that when i find stuff from when i was little. and i think of how dorky i was back then

and oh my god NERDFIGHTER FOR LIFE

  • that was amazing

  • Your story was adorable. I love how the mom went from being a little overweight to having a baby, lol. Your language/grammar was pretty awesome for having written that ten years ago, go young Hayley!

    Woot, Nerdfighter 3 year old!

  • they built their house out of wood from the yard and began mashing up baby food the day sarah got home from the hospital for when she gets older. hahahahahhahahaha

  • I know, right? This was a totally green family, building whatever they needed. And well-prepared, as well.

Although maybe a bit too possesive, though. "It was her 16th birthday, and the father built Emily a car out of the twigs he collected in the yard, finishing it off with a big sign on the hood that said 'Emily'".

    You girls are truly awesome.

  • LOL.

  • I love that you didn't yet fully understand pregnancy but your grammar is excellent.

  • Haha definitely =]

  • Hayley, your story is amazing. It's even better when you think of Joe fathering Emily and Sarah.

  • That was awesome.

  • I'm going to miss this channel

  • What was that?

I believe it was my life being MADE BY THAT STORY.

    I LOVE YOU.

  • AHAHAHA! I love how hard you emphasized their poverty. "They had a cradle but it said EMILY on it." xD

  • OMG best story ever!! you were only eight, too :P

  • God, I feel old now. I was rocking out to Hanson in middle school in 1998.

  • Brilliant! ^^

  • that was quite the story, Hayley.

  • lol undeniable proof that you are indeed a born nerdfighter

  • Woah!! That hand print is pretty "nerdfighting" awesome!

  • That was flipping awesome.

  • Hey hayley widescreen doesn't make you look fat you're gorgeous <3 awesome video

  • um seriously that is WAY more than i ever did at eight years old. still hilarious though!

    nerdfighter at 3!? clearly awesome!

  • haha that was great Hayley.

    :D

  • I think this might be my favorite. After the one where I trip and fall on your front steps.

I have definitely written worse. Though your description of pregnancy was basically the best ever. I love you so much.

  • at the beginning of the video when you kept moving around i saw the handprint in the back and was like "that has to be hayley's hand" haha

  • Whoa, first ever nerdfighter!

    =]

    You're made of awesome, Hayley!

  • That was genius. And hilarious :D

  • I love the illustrations. That was a magical story. I remember writing things like that, but it was always about cats. :)

  • Babies: They pop out!

  • the dog looked like a mouse

    lol

    kind of corny

    but nice story

    the handprint is pretty awesome

  • HOLYSHIT.

  • i love the fact that you wrote an "about the author" section and all lol

  • That was amazing.

    Get it published.

I'd totally read that to my kids if I had any.

  • That's really good for an eight year old..xD

  • I wrote a book like that. I think it was my over exaggerated version of when one of my cats ran away then came back home...

Wow, we have imaginations when we're little-er xD

  • wow

    just wow

the awesome power of the nerdfighters existed long before we discovered it

    lol

  • I think that hand print makes you the very first nerdfighter. :P

  • Get that shit published, Hoover. Instant classic!

  • I love the baby food preserves. :)

  • The fact that you could tell a comprehensible story with a decently wide range of vocabulary at the age of eight is pretty impressive.

And talk about foreshadowing. Thanks for writing me into your story and giving me a pink bow and baby food. <3 See you in a week!

  • Hey, don't thank me. Joe brought you into this world.

    <333333333

  • See you tomorow Liane! See. You. Tomorow. Indeed. Indeed. Indeed. Indeed. Idneed.

    SEE YOU TOMOROW!!!!

  • Uh, it's actually the Star Trek symbol for Live long, and prosper...

  • Yes... and no.

Check out the Vlog Brothers link in the sidebar for more info.

  • I know what Nerdfighters are, I've been watching B2.0 since the beginning. But it was the Vulcan symbol wayyy before.

  • This makes me want to find my story about a Christmas tree that wanted to be a Spice Girl...

  • Adorable beyond all words.

The story was cute too! ;D

  • If you ask me very nicely, I might make a Wangdoodles video when I get home. What do you think?

  • Are these like Dickerdoodles?

  • That deserves the Printz!

  • Wide screen makes you look too cute.

Cuteness goes only so far, but fortunately you are also creative. I always enjoy your videos.

  • This is why YouTube is my favorite reality show. :)

    Awesome.

  • That was epic.

  • I was LOLing at this. That's awesome for early ages. xD

  • Nerdfighter handprint, FTW! Haha.

This totally made me want to dig out one of my old books too. One day, perhaps I will. :)

    -Sara

that nerdfighter hand .... no words.

  • Yay stories from 8 year old Hayley.

    <3

  • I think it's funny that all the stories little kids write are about poor people.... :D

  • wow that was fantastic haha i love how u read it and how her mom was overweight so they felt the need to bring her to the doctor's...did they like not know she was pregnant? lol.

  • That was brilliant!

    NeRdFiGhTeRs!

  • An instant classic.

I love that you stifled a laugh when you said 'record player'.

  • that story made my day. hahaha. you've always been awesome. :)

  • Poor Sarah has to have a combined birthday-christmas celebration for the rest of her life :(
