Awesome video, and you did well to show its location in respect to Ueno Station. Good coverage of the merchandise inside. But, I have to admit, I had to pause the video when you said "YaMAshi ROYa" because I was laughing too hard. It's pronounced Yama SHIROya, all one word. Sorry to be mean. But, it is a great video. And you're right... we can't help but to prioritize awesome robot toys over food.

Was there back in 06 for a little vacation when my friend and I graduated from High School. Ueno was an awesome place to begin with. The zoo was fun, though it ate my camera's battery and storage space, but very pleasant. That toy store was a Japanese Toy freaks wet dream to say the least. We found all the Gundam and Macross models and just started drooling. Thx for the video, it brought back some really good memories!

Yes in the basement they have a lot of puzzles, magic tricks and stuff like that and frames and stuff but you can get a cube anywhere.

It cost me 120.00 US about 12000yen. Its sweet! It fully transforms into a shuttle a standing bot and a destroid all three full transformations no lame half looking modes all of them look different.

Well I don't know but I remember its pretty pricey. You can get such things at flea markets for a better price. Scary thing is the replica guns are super real. Bring one home and it would be hard to tell its a fake unless examined closely.

that 100.00 box is the 5 day service there are a few lesser grades of postage that may be cheaper but not by much say 20.00 or so. I try not to ship allot home if possible.

Here are two examples... It costs about 200.00 to 300.00 per cubic meter as bulk shipping regardless of weight. Its about 100.00 to send a 12"x12"x16" box weight about 7 pounds from the post office. Thats all in dollars

Thats tough now... The dollar is weak but there is stuff here that is very rare in the US.... Check Ebay then wait and see if you see it here... I know that some people actually buy stuff here and sell it for 2 to 3 times the price in the states.

I was there in October, for the first time.

I spent 3 hours in that store and about 19000 yen buying all sorts of crazy toys. The best toy store ever, hands down.

What I'm most impressed about Yamashiroya is they covered all areas of customers, from children to adult hobbyists.

Not many toys stores in the world can cover such a wide range of customers at once.

6 floors and a basement..I could do a 4 hour video and still miss things ....yea I used to visit once a year in the past and would spend hours looking around...its always changing so you have to go every month if you are a seriouse collector. They have allot of figures and will bring things back from time to time. I am really into Macross Robotech and its the only store I have ever seen the stuff in a wide selection. The one peice stuff seems like its here to stay so is the Death Note...
