The combination of triplet notes and varying percussion backgrounds makes the song feel like it keeps moving from slow to fast. Funny it ended up with a character that manipulates time.

@SEGPED Extraordinarily insightful. I haven't listened to this theme much at all, but I was thinking something along the same lines (although without as much articulation). I do, however, think there are some very slight tempo changes in there, I need to check this in Audacity.

@KlLLAH573 Actually, ZUN mentios in the sound test that he threw in triplets to give the illusion of a change in tempo, without actually doing so. Whenever any composer throws in triplets when the rest of the melody's in regular crotchets and quavers, it screws with your perception of tempo, so... good job, ZUN!
