Taj should have won several times now. I think it's to keep pay low, if Slater really did win 9 times in a row he should be paid $10 million a year. The contests WERE rigged a bit. You simply want to be the one who catches the good waves. In past contests Taj did catch the good ones and lost, THAT is what was BS. Most tricks are lame. Everything is phony since 1999, so all this talk about scoring?

I was surprised how low Kelly's scores were on a couple waves on this vid, and surprised Parkinson was given 10 scores on two waves against Dusty. Very inconsistent scoring.

I was expecting to see more barrels. That was a ridiculous pipeline final. The angle of the camera on that air at 0:30 was sweet.

This was total bullshit. Slater's late drop and ballsy pull-up into that barrel, the only one ridden in the whole heat, and he's scored a 3.93. Something's very wrong. Taj is not a Pipe Master as he didn't have a single barrel in the whole final. The surfing was all around horrendous, however Slater was undercut to the point that it took the wind out of him. If he was scored properly, I guarantee he would''ve worked harder to find the score. Slater was hunting for tubes in a tuberiding contest.

Ya true. but if you heard. the judges said there not looking for barrels, they were mainly looking for aerials and snaps because of the conditions. Yea i agree with you i was disappointed when i saw kellys score for that wave.

I saw that later on. You're right. Slater didn't follow the criteria. I don;t blame him, he has been in 14 Pipe Masters Finals and won 6 so he knows the wave better than just about anyone. His thoughts were that he'd try and win the trditional Pipe way. He has the skills to blow Taj out of the water on manuevers. If only he has played it the way Taj did, he'd be $90K richer. Unfortunately, he sat too long waiting for barrels that never came.

Sunny showed up late for his round one heat and the contest Director, Randy Rarick, disqulified him as the alternate already padled out. There was a scuffle on the beach. Look at the HOD, round one, heat 8, torrey Meister took Sunny's place. By being late, Sunny blew $50K (Triple Crown) + pipe earnings. Parko lost his next heat so Sunny needed to win one or two heats for $50K. He has to want to shoot himself for that move. Check out the VID again, Rd 1 HT 8.

FUCK OFF ASP JUDGES !!!! 3.93 for the only barrel of the ... Pipeline Masters final :( It wasn't a 9 (the score Slater needed) but a better score for this "good" backdoor barrel could have changed the dynamic of the heat. Nothin against Burrow. Judges just SUCKS !!!!
