It's also possible to climb into this fort's courtyard from a rock hillside nearby, jumping onto one of the walkways, rather than go in the back door. Then you can pull the latch from there without having to clear any of this interior stuff.

i think that it's a bug with the fire spell killing you in one hit it happenened to me in oblivion elder scrolls IV even though i was imune to fire and it happened to me on skyrim as well and that was constently even by lvl 1's and i was lvl 100.

If Phil can go around killing bandits with levels a lot higher than himself with beginner level spells and a 9 damage sword that' lost it's enchantment (lol), I think I'll fare pretty damn well. That and I'll need to crank up the difficulty above easy (or normal.)
