@jpollar : I think it's luck the 'meeting' part....it's the keeping a relationship that requires skills. Some skills can be already there, some can be learned and some can be improved. I believe communication is one of them. While no one enjoyes conflicts, I think at times they are necessary so that one knows what the others wants or don't. Walking away and the silent treatment are for sure not skills helpful is relationship development and growth.

@jpollar : I think it takes 2 emotinally intelligent partner to make a relationship work. Just finding one doesn't garantee successfull relationship if the other one is emotionally 'challanged'. There is so much 1 emotionally intelligent person can do by his/her own...it takes 2 to tango. Of course this is just my opinion
