I was going to go with the 1055t, But after seeing your system...I really like it..l think Im just going to buy the x4 so I can put the rest of the money towards a better GPU... My first plan was to go all out on the cpu but then after seeing this...I know now that I dont need to set my standards so high...lol..
hey man i saw u recording mw2 enemy of my enemy, i have issues with fraps, can u tell me what settings u have on with fraps and mw2 and how many fraps u record with in the selectio menu of fraps
@PEZBLINDFURY If I remember correctly, when I made this, I had it capped at 30 or 60 fps so as to avoid a monstrous file size. Just set the fps limit within fraps. When you convert it, it will set the new file at either 24 or 30fps anyways.
I was about to buy a computer with an i7 930 processor and an ATI Radeon HD 5850 graphics card until I started seeing these amd processor based computers and they seem to be running at higher fps with lower graphics cards. They also are a lot cheaper than intel based computers. Should I go with an amd and ati computer?
Wait til you see my 5850 vids I'm gonna post here soon. Stock core/memory speeds are 725/850. Mine is set at 950/1100 with no increase in heat!!! I have the Asus brand which came with an unlocked voltage core, so I just upped it to 1.25v. I have a 45% increase over stock 5850's. It scored just over 17,000 gpu score in Vantage which is insane!!! It's the best bet card of their whole line, a real gem. But then again, all of the 5800 cards are monsters, so you can't go wrong.
I would like any links you can give me that would make crysis run any better then it does i'm using the same resolution as you but on all very high settings in DX10 and I average around 30+ fps but I want more.
honestly, use DX 9 instead, if you look online you can use very high settings on DX 9 by changing some entries in the directory, all with notepad and really easy. DX 9 looks NO different, in Crysis at least, and will give you around 5 to even 10 extra fps
umm yah wtf does that have to do with anything, he apparently has links to config files that will make the game look better and run better, what does that have to do with a 4890?
holy fucking shit you are so dense, I don't give a fuck about the video card, the fucking video card has nothing to do with the god dam config files or mods that this guy is talking about in his videos, fuck man does shit always fly past you this easily or are you just voluntarily stupid?
first of all graduated with 3.9 full scholarship to school of my choice (University of Florida) IQ is 126 so best believe i'm not stupid and second i said card because i though u wanted to know why you were not getting those fps and third i had youtube muted I hate listening to people talk on benchmark videos no point to hear a person say 34 fps 35 fps 60 fps 28 fps who wants to hear that tried to help you stupid asshole.
I can't even touch your FPS in Crysis and I have the same setup as you except I have 4gb DDR3 and a Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P. My CPU is at 3.6ghz with the nb at 2600mhz, what's giving you such a boost?
I have a: Radeon 4890 xxx edition, AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE, Asus M4A79-E mobo, OCZ 4GB Reaper DDR2 PC2-8500 1066MHz, a 500gb western digital harddrive and a 650w corsair PSU.
And now the question, why do i only get 29 fps avg on Very High settings? I thought i was gonna get more.. ooh, and I have Windows 7.
I have no mod going on this. the resolution is1680x1050. I personally think it's a combination of the northbride speed and amount of ram. I had an AMD tech tell me he thinks I have like a zero flaw system. Had another guy build my exact spec system, and is getting similar results. That Corsair 750w was made for this system. No instability at all. Let me know if you want contact the guy, he'd be happy to share info.
I agree completely. They just released the 965, but it's 140w (wow). the 955 dropped too 200 bucks, which an insane price for a chip of this caliber. AMD is on the ball with this new line of chips. If they are making a profit at those prices, Intel is really raping people.
Why even have all this super hardware when crysis is like a what 8 hour game to beat, an multi sucks waist of money and time imo. whats it for bragging rights maybe i guess so, i just think its a joke how so many people build these costly unessasary computers for what to play crysis? anything else most average users could use a dual core. Its just lame to me, wow i get 40 fps in crysis who fuckin gives a shit really think about it haha ohwell just my opinion.
nice i have same specs but 2 9800gtx+++ and run 850 watt psu lol the 955 cpu is a very good processor beats all of intels processors other than the i7 but it comes close and 1000 dollers cheaper haha
Nice rig. I'm getting almost the same setup... allthough I'm still not sure about my GFX, considering the XFX HD 4890 XT, but how loud is it in load? Cause I'm consindering the Sapphire VAPOR-X HD 4890 870 / 1005 / don't no the shaders, but that's still 3Ghz lower in video clock speed... I have read a review which concluded the card to by silent if the temp. stays under 86 degrees... hmm what would you say?
I have my fan set at 40%. Never have to put it higher and It's near silent. I also popped of the heatsink and put arctic silver 5 on it which was real good for it.
Building my new system in a couple days, specs as follows:
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz
Gigabyte GA-MA790X
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 1100 DDR2
SAPPHIRE Toxic HD4890
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W
I'm hoping to be able to pull off very close to the same performance as you manage, though not going AM3/DDR3 might kick me in the butt later. What do you think?
Deffinately, just a side note. check for price one supported memory in either 1333 or 1600. Prices are dropping big time. Also make sure the one thing you dont cut a corner on is your powersupply. That is the one most people cheap out one then wonder why stuff is wonky.
Wow Jstark!!! You sold me on this one for sure!!! lol...And your doing this with a single 4890 1gb card and using amd 955 quad core. All for around 1200 dollars that's freakin insane!!!
Yeah, I know. I think the 8 gig of ram helps allot. I like to call Crysis the "Bottleneck Bandit" so when I ran those first two tests, which are all cpu/physics intensive, I about crapped!!! I couldn't even start those tests on my old system. I'm real proud of how smooth this sucker is running.
