  • You guys reinforce these ideas that I've had for a while but had to think how will it work? Like feather hair pieces I saw them in the store and thought I think I understand how to do it but I want a little more detail before I try it out. That's when I found you guys. And you keep giving me more and more brilliant ideas spawned from YOUR brilliant ideas. So THANKYOU if you even still check these messages.

  • I am in the middle of trying this and it's hard lol. I sewed on a ribbon to the bottom and i think it stretched it out cuz the 2 pieces don't fit. Hopefully with using pinch and pin I can make it fit.

  • Hi, thanks for the easy step by step directions on how to make hats. My mother was a seamstress and all my older sisters can sew but not me. I was the one who my mother couldn't get to sit down in front of the sewing machine. Out of the freaking blue I get a yen to make a hat. This weekend I made 5 hats! Apparently, I'm very good at following directions! Thanks again.

  • WOWOWOWOWOW!!! That is awesome! LOVE IT!

The girl is really cute too...

  • Great tutorial, I made this for a fashion competition at school and I won but I changed the feather for some cute buttons :D

  • you could also sew in millinery wire instead of bias tape. :) would be a bit of a hassle with stiff felt though.

  • I just made one for a hat theamed party and everyone loved it!!! Great instructions and very easy to follow!!

  • I miss u guys!! Threadbanger is just not the same...

Thaks for the excellent instrutcions!

  • @norkaMURDER what you mean???

  • Can you made some of the older hats like from Germany and Russia like the old feather hats the bigger ones I would really appriciat it.

    Your friend

    Tiffany Jurak

  • cute hat and simple to make, but you really should press your seams to make it look more professional.

  • @micksmom2 Interesting comment. 1) How do you define "professional"? Do you mean "mass-produced by underpaid Asian workers", or did you have something else in mind? 2) Based on the definition of 1), why does this young lady's hat NEED to look "professional"? Is there something about the hand-crafted piece that repulses you? I really am interested in your thoughts, since you brought this up.

  • :O !!!

  • I have a question what material did she use felt?

  • This is fucking adorable

  • yay! I'm excited about this hat thing. I'm vegan though so I'm wondering what would be the best alternative to felt for these? plz let me know!

  • @cbrowncolors ... Do you even refuse to work with wool? Because felt is nothing but wool... mh... you can get synthetic felt...

  • Excellent -- Brenda was in my handbuilding class at FAU!

    Congratulations!

  • i know this video is older, but for anyone that has made this, i tried to make it last night, and is the top supposed to be way smaller than the band? i followed all her measurements exactly and they don't match up? is there supposed to be gathering when you sew it? it confused me...i'm an amateur in the sewing dept unfortunately so even this project wasn't easy for me. heh. if anyone with the answer could comment back i'd love you!

  • The fabric they used in the video was felt. You can buy felt and bias tape (the white tapeing) at your local fabric store or even your local craft store, if they have a sewing section. My personal favorite is Hobby Lobby.

  • I saw one of your videos some time ago, but the item looked very amateur, so I lost interest. This video re-kindled my love for customized fashion, and your show rocks. Youtube and similar are the future of videocommunication. TV is dead.

  • The hat, twas by far the coolest diy project ever seen in the history of LIFE. Now I don't have to travel back to the 1920's or pay an arm and a laeg for a hat like that.
