Sorry WEP, it gets the atmosphere wrong. Why are they all smiling? They don't form Voltron because they're having a good time. They form Voltron because the threat is so huge that they have no other option. Having them smiling and laughing about it gets rid of the stakes. I also don't like the new lion designs... the originals were the best. Voltron's a very cool property largely because those designs were so cool. Don't re-invent the wheel.

@jjlicon In all fairness, the old voltron is just a hacked, heavily edited version of a japanese anime called Golion, which is a lot better. Full episodes can be seen on YouTube.
CG Animation is crap by todays standards. There's even no anti-aliasing! The lion design is horrible! omg.. you guys butchered my fav childhood cartoon. You should get back the guys from TOEI to do the animation! What's up with hollywood and recent movies/show. They seem to lost all of their magic touches from yesteryears!! I agree with everyone's comment this show is no good. I haven't seen one episode yet. Voltron the robot looks pretty cool, but the characters look like they were ripped right out of one of those Hotwheel shows on Cartoon Network. I'm not too happy aboot that.
While this series isn't perfect, I do enjoy it. I only watched a few episodes of the original Voltron, and while I didn't really like it, I will say I liked the idea. I also like the whole 'switching the head' concept this Voltron has. I also like how both the green and red lion are facing the same way. That always annoyed me in the original series.

It's weird, when they say "Let's go Voltron Force!", I know it sounds rushed, and is badly acted, but for some reason I love when they say it. It's like "FUCK YEAH, BRING OUT THE BIG MECHA!"
They brought back the original series (OVA) theme music & sfx in voltron 2011 episode 12 or 13 (title: clash of the lions) formation sequence. Much more epic feel, as well as they seem to have got the point of adding a more in depth story line of Voltron himself evolving when the black lion crystal is cracked and ancient information starts to come out. I don't know if the writers planed this but it's improving.
... Anyone realize how the Cartoon industry is either so fucking lazy, or just so fucking out of ideas that they have to resort to remaking GOOD 80's Cartoons? Lets see, Voltron, Thundercats... Uh... I'll get back to you on more...

Correction. As you should know, Voltron was made using GoLion footage. Power Rangers was and still is made using Super Sentai footage.
GoLion came out a month after Super Sentai first used combining mecha (Sun Vulcan). (1981 each)
Combining Mecha as a major plot point STARTED with Getter Robo, in 1974.
So, both GoLion/Voltron AND Super Sentai/Power Rangers are ripping off Getter Robo.

While this series isn't perfect, I do enjoy it. I only watched a few episodes of the original Voltron, and while I didn't really like it, I will say I liked the idea. I also like the whole 'switching the head' concept this Voltron has. I also like how both the green and red lion are facing the same way. That always annoyed me in the original series.

It's weird, when they say "Let's go Voltron Force!", I know it sounds rushed, and is badly acted, but for some reason I love when they say it. It's like "FUCK YEAH, BRING OUT THE BIG MECHA!"

They brought back the original series (OVA) theme music & sfx in voltron 2011 episode 12 or 13 (title: clash of the lions) formation sequence. Much more epic feel, as well as they seem to have got the point of adding a more in depth story line of Voltron himself evolving when the black lion crystal is cracked and ancient information starts to come out. I don't know if the writers planed this but it's improving.

Guys... I watched the original and all I can't say is that I'm very very VERY disappointed. I mean... with all the fucking technology of today one would expect animation standards to be pretty high. They are not. This is what happens when you make something out of profit only... without any tribute nor respect to the source material. Animation dudes... really.... you need to go watch 70s and 80s japanese robo anime to see what I mean...
