@TheZeke1974 - yes, they did interchange here, but long before my time (1982 to 1985). The interchange track was very steep; the roadbed can still be seen.
@TheZeke1974 Yes, in 1981, and in 1983 under my supervision. I left in 1985, and they unloaded more CWR I think the following year, but never installed it. My section was installed from West Salem to Roachdale. It was a huge improvement to the line - it went from barely good enough for 10 mph, to suitable for 40+ mph. Then they tore it up; go figure.
@Bluejacket01 Ya know, the same thing was done to the C&O as well. CSX upgraded the rail to CWR abnd then tore it out. I heard they did the same thing to the B&O across southern Ohio as well. It kinda makes you wonder about the old Monon from Lafayette to NW indiana. CSX is replacing the sempahores with new Safetrans signals. :-(
@storrs19 Yes, I hate to reminisce about it because it makes me sad that all the work we did out there trying to keep it running (i.e. replacing broken rails) and trying to upgrade it (i.e. tie and surfacing programs) is all for naught. Plus all the little 'dramas' we had out there. Now all gone, likely forever.
The part 0:57 to 1:02 is called "Guion". I dont know if the PRR and B&O ever interchanged here or not.

@TheZeke1974 Yes, all of this was performed in the name of system efficiency. That's why it's so important to take photos and document this stuff.
