and Its the same with Friendly. The boss of the show wanted him written out of the script for some weird reason.

It's even stranger with Friendly, given that he does appear for the first two or three episodes, only to fade into total obscurity...

The only reason I can think of for them wanting Friendly out was to make Plucky the most obvious successor to Fox's leadership (of course, in Series 2 Friendly was proven to have a bit of an attitude problem, so I don't think he was on a particularly good stead to be the next leader anyhow). Either way, a little closure for the character would have been nice.

I love Plucky! But anyway, Your right. Friendly never really did live up to his name, and would not have much potential to lead, anyway. Ranger,maybe. But Plucky really was the best choice I say.

But In the books friendly gets a mate and has a son. I would have liked to see that.

Ranger does actually ask why Fox chose Plucky over him - Fox state's that it's because Plucky is a direct descendant, and therefore the spirit of the original Farthing Wood animals flows in his veins, or something to that effect.

Also in the books, Bold's son was Husky and Plucky was actually his grandson. But since they skipped Book 5 in the TV series, for some reason, I suppose it made sense skip over Husky's character arc and to go directly to Plucky.

I agree! I've wondered ever since the mid-90s how there is no Lady Blue. Maybe she was too disgraced and left perhaps. Not conducive to survival, bt still she wasn't exactly a lame duck herself. A bit like Lady Macbeth she prompted Scarface to do some story -changing things "oh I do like stirring things up!"

The blue foxes were a great counterbalance.

New hare is Dash. Dash is the daughter of Leveret, who is the son of Mr and Mrs Hare. Hence why she exists.

Mr Rabbit found a new mate. They had four kittens. Also the older son and daughter are still alive. So there are loads of rabbits.

Also! The fox running up the hill at 6.08 to 6.10 is meant to be Plucky, but it's Vixen?

In the books Kestrel died at the same time Moley died in the 2nd series, so i'm assuming she died in the cartoon to, shame really although they should have kept Badger in though as he survived in the books and the 'Rats' in the books is acctually a big cat of some description.
