This is the movie we have to watch in English after we get done reading the play in the English book. I have seen this before so it's no surprise what happens in the book just the work will be much more organized. I have to do the English course all over again so that's why i have to listen to the play in the book and watch the movie after. Tybalt's voice is a bit of a turn-off though. You see him walking up to the camera and you're like "DAMN!" but when he begins to speak it's just like "...ok-aaaay..." :)

Benvolio's personality is really nice. That's why I like his character the best in Romeo and Juliet. :)

I agree. I don't see what's so great about Romeo anyway. Sure he would fight for you, but I like Benvolio's peaceful attitude more. He about the only person in the story who has a brain because he can see that the fight between the two families is wrong. :)

@bfoaliali I have, when I was taught about Shakespear, we were showed many different types of Shakespear movies. Theres one where theres 'Jets' and 'Sharks' it's like a non-speaking film. And believe it or not it is in the spirit of Shakespear and is still faithfull to it, that includes this one. The script is almost identical.

@SongGirl42 Apparently you have never read Romeo and Juliet. Well, not apparently, but rather obviously. The prologue in this movie is around 5 lines to short. And the opening lines of Gregory and Samson do not come from the play. I challenge you to read the actual play from Shakespeare and tell me I am wrong. Read Q1 or Folio a thousand, and you will see I am right. Read any version for that fact.

this is a SCREENPLAY not a Theatrical Production. OF COURSE there were changes. I defy you to name more than 5 movies that follow the book verbatim. I assumed you were thinking that this was the newer version of the movie. My apologies to you, for the misunderstanding, but you shouldn't be so judgmental on screenwriters, or movie fans.

It just that your response was the third one following a similar line, and I thought maybe I had gone crazy, because I knew for a fact that that the prolouge was longer, and the intro was different. So I just took my anger out at you. Yes, which is why I rarely watch SHakespeare movies. I am a Shakespeare purist ;) :) :) :).

I am a poet, and a romance writer. I wouldn't DREAM of changing Sir William's words other than to make a 145 minute film that much more endearing to the rest of the world!!
